| A Perfect Circle – Thomas Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm going to put a new take on it and say it's multi-layred and also about Layne Thomas Staley. One of MJK's close friends(and singer of Alice in Chains) who died of a horrible heroin addiction which lasted years. |

| Pearl Jam – Given to Fly Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is about being on Acid. "tuned in, tuned in, but he tuned out" Sounds a lot like the phrase "tune on, tune in, and drop out". everything else seems very LSD or some other type of hallucinogenic like DMT. |

| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 18 years ago |
You're an idiot Snake Doctor. Also Reflection is about his soul mate Brena.. He has referred to her as his "reflection" in interviews. They got divorced so something probably happened in her past that Maynard thought he could cure her of.. Telling her that to not fret because she will come to find that "we are all one mind." Other songs he refers to her are in a lot of APC songs; Sleeping Beauty, Brena, and a few other ones. Read those lyrics and it starts to make sense. |

| Tool – Eulogy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Bill Hicks is my favorite comedian.. I know a lot about the man.. The song is obviously about Bill... Also, if you're going to try to find a deep meaning in all of the songs remember that not all of them are so deep. Maynard has said before to not try and figure out what the song writer is saying and more so what the music is saying. "Over thinking, over analyzing, separates the body from the mind" |

| Tool – Eulogy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I believe that the song is completely about Bill Hicks. To me it is about comparing Bill Hicks, to Jesus Christ. But after listening to the song, watching allot of Bill Hicks, and understanding Bill's thinking and views on life; it is quite clear to me that it is about Bill's relationship with himself (spiritually and mentally), and Maynard (and his views on life). "Standing above the crowd, He had a voice so strong and loud and I Swallowed his façade 'cause I'm so Eager to identify with" If you have seen, Bill Hicks do any performance you would understand that this matches Bill completely, and how Maynard looked up to him, as a friend. "So long We wish you well You told us how you weren't afraid to die Well then, so long Don't cry. Or feel too down Not all martyrs see divinity But at least you tried" Bill made it clear many times during his performances that he was not afraid of death. This piece of lyrics is also saying that he is a martyr, for attempting to wake up the public from their state of mind. "But it was so loud You sure could yell You took a stand on every little thing And so loud" Again, another reference to Bill Hicks. He was loud on his points that he cared so much about. "Come down Get off your fucking cross We need the fucking space to nail the next fool martyr" I think that this is referring to that Bill Hicks has done his job, and that it is time for a new "martyr" to take his place. "To ascend you must die You must be crucified For our sins and our lies Goodbye..." I think this should be interpreted not so literally, and may be referring to what Bill Hicks went through with his comedy. |
