I could almost swear that Sonata Arctica made this song about my future self XD It's about someone who's been through a very abusive, traumatising life. "In a house where no one never sleeps, lays a man who sees more with his eyes Picturing the past before him, in a bed, alone, with clothes on Paying for a service he doesn't really need" Here, the guy is in a club, or a brothel (basically a place where you can pay for sex), thinking about his past. Although he doesn't really need sex to make him feel better. "With his eyes, he sees more love and lust more tears, far too much to handle Can't tell a soul, not this time, they'd lock him right up Too much of burning bushes too much for his weak soul" He sees the girl as a woman more than just a whore and it hurts him to know that is how he sees the world and it really hurts him. But he can't tell anyone, otherwise he'd be hauled away to a mental house, or jail. The last line metamorphizes "burning bushes" as maybe lust from both men and women and it's too much for him to handle. Stating that men who rape and women who prostitute themselves or have sex a lot really weighs heavy on his mind, this stemming from a past trauma. "In his mind, oh so jaded, he's gone too far behind Of all the visions seen, this one makes him scream" He thinks too far back and has a flashback of when he was raped probably and screams. "He cannot live neither die in this world Burning sensation inside, you know how that hurts? Making up for the crimes of your life With scythe as your sword, you must fight 'till the end of time" The first two lines here show that he can't live in the world, but he can't leave it either. Everything he's been through and sees tears him up inside. The next few lines speak to him directly, telling him that to make up for the trauma that has happened to him, he has get out there and make a difference in people's lives. "Don't look behind, or you will fall through the time Only time can make you see behind of the curtain hiding the secret. Your time is up when you see the light" The singer continues to speak to the person, telling him he shouldn't focus on the past, and that time will heal the wounds of life. The last line is basically just death. "You can live as a noble man but when time, You won't be left behind" He can live as a good person, helping out and stuff and when his past comes back, he won't dwell on it anymore, for he's gotten over it. "With the sound of time ringing in his head, He leaves the house where no-one never sleeps Job well done knowing that at least one will be pleased" With his past still haunting him, he leaves the house, feeling somewhat satisifed that at least the girl is pleasured. "Hiding is always useless, pictures will fade with time" It says that hiding from your past is useless, time will heal the wounds. "Seeking for a winner of the day, prize of life is here Of all the visions seen this one makes him scream " "Winner of the day" basically means which girl he'll fuck today. "prize of life" means that basically what currently yearns, but doesn't really need is sex with girls. And of course the last one is about his flashbacks and how they haunt him. Actually, this songs seems to be more about guys who do online dating to me. Here's why: "We only have one candle To burn down to the handle" This is just refering to the fact that we have only one life to live. "To rage and run like a fool You need no brain, your best tool" The guy probably thinks he's too angry and stupid to find someone out there and that he's better off without it, even though its the best way. "You let the phone line bring it home to you The life, the lies, the dreams You cannot see the real thing underneath - Naked truth revealed " This is where the online thing is revealed. The internet runs on phonelines and the guy's addicted to it. That's how he lives his life, even though some of it are lies. "You think you have it all now The wisdom, power, know-how Can't even think you're wrong This is the way the brain of a male is made" He thinks his life is okay now, even though it isn't. The last two lines is the generalization that guys always think they're right even though they're obviously wrong. "If you live, you will die You won't live forever stuck in time Ebb and flow, push and tow You must keep it real to find her " The first two lines are about that he's better off living and dying rather than staying forever in the screen. And the final line refers that he needs to find someone out there in the real world and not online. Just my interepretation though. |

Because "It's not over till the fat lady sings" is a commonly used saying for "it's not over until its over!". It was inspired by opera because usually they ended with a fat lady singing.
