| Pulp – Cocaine Socialism Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| csa has it down pretty much. also important to mention how it's a play on champagne socialism. just like rich people being all glamorous and leftist and hip, but the champagne of the past had turned into the cocaine of britpop. almost like a common people type meaning but being specifically political as opposed to the personal as political from CP. | |
| Pulp – Do You Remember The First Time? Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think everyone's been pretty spot on so far. Basically saying the first time we had sex was pretty crappy but we've both gotten alot better/had more practice. You're boyfriend's really boring but he's more stable than i am so i get why youre with him, but said very sarcastically, of course. Part of me feels like he's not sleeping with her, and maybe it's like the song is his attempt to get her to sleep with him again even though she's seeing someone else, because the saying she's going to be late makes me think that there somewhere together but havent necessarily slept together yet, but save a piece for me makes me think that they are, so i'm not sure, i think it's probably supposed to be ambiguous also it's definitely implied that the boyfriend doesn't really meaure up, the toy that reaches the place that he's never been and i think maybe the "we've grown" part is implying more than just emotional growth... |
