It's about organized religions seeking out the weak to turn them onto God, NOT the punk movement. I really can't see how you can relate even half the words to the punk movement...
To validate my point, have none of you seen the "Live at the Palladium" DVD? Right before Bad Religion plays this song, Greg G. says "the three most frightening words invented by any religion... COME JOIN US". He says it virtually every time before they play it... look it up on YouTube. |

I love the book, but hate this song with a burning passion. I think a three year old could write a song that delves deeper into Wuthering Heights than Kate Bush.
P.S. Everyone who says the book is too confusing up to chapter three, keep on reading. After chapter three is over, another character takes over the narration and explains everything more-or-less until the end of the book. |

Perhaps you are all taking this too literally? I really think this is about all the celebrities who began to speak out against Bush and the government when this song first came out ("...even the stars are ill at ease..."). When celebrities speak out against something, the media is always there to record or film it ("...catch it on prime time, story at nine..."). |
