| Television – See No Evil Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| What happened to the first verse? | |
| Phoenix – 1901 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| It's really funny that everyone keeps arguing that the lyrics is not "fold it" when the band has posted in numerous locations that it's "fold it." It even says "fold it" in the lyrics booklet. It's not "fallin'." He's saying "fold it." Get over it. | |
| The Stooges – Search and Destroy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Yeah this song totally sucks now because they used it in a movie that you don't like. The Life Aquatic kicks ass, and Bill Murry is the man. |
|
| The Twilight Sad – And She Would Darken The Memory Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Thy are pretty obviously Scottish. | |
| Frightened Rabbit – Square 9 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
To me this song seems like it's about getting a fresh start with someone. Maybe getting back together with an ex? Or maybe just simply becoming friends with an ex again? That last verse is amazing by the way. |
|
| Bon Iver – Blindsided Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah, I'm willing to bet that he was kidding about that. A lot of introspective songwriters like to joke around and make light of what their songs are about so they don't have to tell the same stories over and over again. | |
| Jets to Brazil – You're The One I Want Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Holy shit, never realized how good these lyrics are. | |
| Ray LaMontagne – Sarah Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Yeah, the lyrics I uploaded were from the original version that he was playing live in 2005. The version on the album sucks ass. He ruined that song. |
|
| The Everly Brothers – All I Have To Do Is Dream Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think the narrator is singing about a lost love. Hence "Dreaming my life away." He's hung up on the girl. |
|
| M83 – Midnight Souls Still Remain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is literally two chords over and over again for 11 minutes. It rules. | |
| Coldplay – Glass of Water Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Such a good song! Should have been on the full length. | |
| The Twilight Sad – Cold Days From the Birdhouse Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yep. Comments have corrected most of the mistakes, but the posted lyrics are pretty wrong. | |
| M83 – Graveyard Girl Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is amazing until the monologue, which is ridiculous. | |
| Jackson Browne – Here Come Those Tears Again Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I don't know, to me it really just seems like a girl who keeps breaking up with him but ultimately comes back to him for a romantic relationship. He's tired of the cycle and even though he still loves her, he doesn't know if he can go through it again. | |
| M83 – Teen Angst Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It's definitely "I'm so glad I'm crying" at the end. I also don't think the girl is saying "Teen angst" in the chorus. The first syllable sounds like a "K" to me. Maybe she's saying "Keep out?" I don't know. But yeah, great song. Definitely get the "floating above a city" vibe from it, too. |

| A. A. Bondy – Black Rain, Black Rain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Needs no explanation. Gets me every time. | |
| The Helio Sequence – Lately Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Definitely about a guy who's not over a girl. He's being sarcastic. | |
| Gregory and the Hawk – Kill The Turkey Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song actually IS about the war in Iraq/George Bush. I've met her a bunch of times, and she was pretty annoyed when I assumed she was a vegeterian. | |
| Copeland – The Grey Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Pretty sure it's "Colorless as night" instead of "Color rests in night" also "Run, run fast enough to lose yourself" instead of "What wrong, fast enough to lose yourself" |
|
| Midlake – Young Bride Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Who gives a shit about grammar in song lyrics? It seems to be mostly intentional anyway, a lot of times lyricists will stretch the rules of grammar so that the syllables fit better with the melody/sound more pleasing to the ear. It's called artistic license. Also, I think the line is supposed to be more like this "Why are your shoulders like that? Of a tired old woman..." Like he's remarking to himself "They're like the shoulders of a tired old woman..." |

| Copeland – I'm A Sucker For A Kind Word Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| He's missing someone, probably an ex, and it torments him the most when he lays down to go to bed. He can't sleep, and he's no longer distracted, so she's all he thinks about. It drives him crazy. | |
| Frightened Rabbit – Fast Blood Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Pretty sure that first line is "Good night, it's show time." This song is definitely about sex, but I think it's also more complicated with that. To me, it's about how you're tortured with sexual thoughts of someone who you love after you break up. Could also be about having sex with an ex and being confused about it. |
|
| Sigur Rós – Illgresi Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Okay, so what do they mean? | |
| Death Cab for Cutie – Expo '86 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| He's defnitely talking about being close friends with a former girlfriend, but he still loves her. She keeps dating the same lame guys, and he doesn't want to lose his place in line, hoping for a romantic reconciliation. He must think that she still loves him. | |
| Jets to Brazil – Autumn Walker Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Bees on the ground? Hahahaha It's supposed to be "leaves on the ground." It's also "Stay now, autumn walker," not "stay down." Great song though, lyrics are pretty self explanatory, if not moving. |
|
| Homesick for Space – Suburban Doldrums Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with the above poster, but more likely than not it's about a girl. :) | |
| Copeland – Hold Nothing Back Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with the last poster as well as arena37. It gives me a bit of hope for my current situation. Argh. Although I'm not sure that it's great for my mental health. | |
| Copeland – Love Affair Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Haha, shit, it's supposed to be "Love took her hand like a thief." Guess I fucked up too. | |
| Copeland – Love Affair Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Why does everyone post incorrect lyrics? Fell past a cheekbone hill to a piece of her floor, The hope of the world is an awkward spill. Oh, she'd lie on her bed and stare into harsh white light, And think that her heart's not right. Cause love take her hand like a thief, Took her heart like a robber. And the feelings that scare her become her relief. Just let me run where I want to run. Just let me love who I want. Just let me run where I want to run. Just let me love who I want. In a flash her heart is slain, you have to ask in all this pain. Was your heart too soft? Was your love in vain? Was your kiss too weak? Were your eyes too tight? And much too young to be in love? And much too young to be in love? Just let me run where I want to run. Just let me love who I want. Just let me run where I want to run. Just let me love who I want. Just let me run where I want to run. Just let me love who I want. Cause there are no rules for this love. Just keep your head and don't give up. Or call the fools who play it smart. Lose your head just for your heart. Just for your heart. |
