You need to back off, people are going to post their opinions and use bad grammar while making spelling mistakes. That is the beauty of the Internet. Anyways, I haven't seen anybody post the actual meaning of this song so I will. This beautiful song was written for a REAL girl named Delilah. Tom Higgenson, the singer from the Plain White T's, wrote this wrote this song for her, after their fateful meeting in New York City. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for some of you girls) Delilah was not his girlfriend just his inspiration for an amazing love song. Delilah was a Columbia grad student, which is why "in two more years you'll be done with school ...". Lastly, Tom is from Chicago, hence "A thousand miles ..." The End. |

I completely understand what you are going through, except I have a few more miles on you. I am with a boy from Florida and I am from New Jersey that's about 1200 miles. I've known him/been together with him for a little over three and a half years. Four years come August and it's hard and it sucks. Song Meaning: Obviously this song is about a long distance relationship. My boy and I discovered this song the day I was leaving to come back home to New Jersey. We were watching the movie Serendipity and it's in the credits. The lines that hit home to me the most are "I can't take the time until the next time I see you smile" probably because he has the most beautiful smile I've ever seen in my life. |
