definitely one of my favorites on the cd. i'm not sure if i missed it or skimmed passed it, but it seemed like no one ever mentioned the meaning of the: "and you could lay on your back and be beaten you could put up your fists and fight you could try and be way off" part. the whole album has a religious theme, obviously (hence the title). i could be wrong, but i interpret this verse as: and you could lay on your back and be beaten (when Jesus was beaten before being crucified?) you could put up your fists and fight (He could have stopped them, but didn't?) you could try and be way off (not sure here?) im not the best of interpretation, but when i heard this song thats just what i thought immediately. i think im right hehe. not to sound cocky or anything. |

| i'd have to agree with ifyoucleach's lyrics. they make the most sense, especially if you start the album with welcome to bangkok. plus, it goes with the somewhat ocean theme and sounds the best with wait and fate. anyways, love this song. | |

i'm sure that this song has nothing to do with his relationship with God. its about a girl and boy. duh! nickelback is pretty much the worst band ever created. their music is general is a sad excuse for good music. lame pop rock, pretty much only like by rednecks, and those that think they actually know what "rock" is. im not saying you don't have taste in music if you listen to nickelback. well maybe i am. ha. they suck. but please don't say they're awesome, when their lyrics are the same lame cliche-pop radio tunes. |
