I think it's about drug addiction. I also think this song is about drugs. While I used to think that it was about a girl, I realize that it being about a drug addiction would make much more sense. I'm going to break down the song and interepret it how I think it is meant to be. "I got dosed by you and Closer than most to you and What am I supposed to do" <--I think this means he feels close to the drug, like it's his personal possession. He also feels confusion/ frustration because he knows it wrong but it likes it anyway. "Take it away I never had it anyway Take it away and everything will be okay" <-- I think this refers to him feeling almost worthless without it, but knowing that it's better that way. "In you a star is born and You cut a perfect form and Someone forever warm" <-- I think this means that he likes the feeling of being invinceable, popular. He think it makes him perfect and he likes being "forever warm" or forever happy. "Way upon the mountain where she died All I ever wanted was your life Deep inside the canyon I can't hide All I ever wanted was your life" <-- This person got so addicted that all they wanted was drugs. They can't get away from it now. "Show love with no remorse and Climb on to your seahorse and This ride is right on corse This is the way I wanted it to be with you This is the way that I knew that it would be with you" <-- This refers to going into rehab, showing love with no remorse means that he's happy he's going to rehab and he doesn't regret it. He wants to get out of the drug addiction and knows that it's "right on course". By saying that "this is the way, i wanted it to be with you." He got what he wanted from the drug addiction, he was happy and content for a while before he got completely addicted. He knows now that rehab is the best thing for him. Well that's just what I think... |
