| Blind Guardian – Tanelorn (Into The Void) Lyrics | 11 years ago |

Like most of the songs on this album, it's about a famous fantasy series, in this case Michael Moorcock's Elric of Melnibone series, about an angsty albino emperor who wields Stormbringer, a demonic sword that provides him incredible strength by devouring the souls of people it hits. When the lyrics refer to "A dark sword / A black soul / My soulmate gets near / Deceiver / Deceiver" and "It's your blood I desire / The last soul I require / Right after all the damage will be done" it's probably talking about how the sword eventually betrays and kills him, as well as everyone he loves. |

It's actually "Blessed ground, this world is Sacred." A great theme song for Sacred 2. |

Am I the only one who thinks it's about Napoleon, not Louis XVI? Look at the 2nd verse again, it makes sense for Napoleon (who said, "The Die is Cast" before marching on Austria, just like Caesar before crossing the Rubicon), but not for the king. It could be from the viewpoint of an old Napoleon, dying in exile, reminiscing on his life. |

While the intro is bland enough to have almost made me turn it off the first time I listened to it, I'm glad my fiancee forced me to listen to the whole song. It's an amazing, amazing piece. It captures the melancholy of the main character perfectly. She has replaced all of her physical body with android parts -- brain included -- and has lost the anchor of her "ghost" (her consciousness or soul) to physical reality and has begun to drift away on the waves of the 'net. |

| KoЯn – Evolution Lyrics | 18 years ago |

He's saying that he thinks that all there is is evolution, that there is no God, we all have inescapable bestial natures, and thus, it depresses him. At least he's more honest than most atheists on the topic. |

IMO, it's about stigmatizing people who have illnesses. Reading the above, I guess it's about his blood disorder, but I was guessing it was about mental illness, like depression. Where do you go when you're hurting? |

| 50 Cent – Ayo Technology Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| In the music video, the rappers have some kind of haptic gloves where they can touch women from a distance and turn them on. If you listen to the lyrics, it's basically about them being at a strip club, tired of looking at women on the internet, wanting the real physical contact of a lap dance instead. Not very deep, like all of 50s songs, but catchy beat by Timba. | |
| Brand New – Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I have a friend like the guy in this song. Innocent, virgin (at 26), dating a very worldly woman older than him. He wanted to tell her the emotions he was feeling, how good it felt, but all she wanted from him was sexual release. Welcome to adulthood. 'The act becomes the art of growing up.' | |

I know this song pretty well. Memorized it, and I'm familiar with most of Del's other works. IMHO, most of the opinions on here are wrong. The rap is told from the perspective of the Muse of the new group, and uses symbolism and imagery from what you might call a spiritualist perspective. (Del is probably the most erudite of the rappers out there.) You might call Del a Brahmin-like character. The song exhorts people to elevate their consciousness. 1) The song begins with the Muse being freed and appearing before Russ (ah someone let me out of my cage). 2) He then explains who he is: Time for me is nothing because I'm counting no age... I'm under each snare, intangible. He's a timeless, incorporeal entity. (Later he further explains he is in all living things and objects.) 3) He then gets to the point, ordering people to think. (Bet you didn't think, so I command you to... look I'll make it all manageable.) 4) He then talks about the mystical and spiritual, and uses various imageries to give people the clearer view. Chorus: Mystical words about happiness. 5) He then comes to the point. "The essence, the basics": Del (the Muse/Brahmin) is in all living things. We can't see him, but that's because we're seeing with our eyes, instead of perceiving with our minds. Elevate your mind, and you can perceive the spirit within all things. 6) "That's the inner" -- a mystical/spiritualist phrase talking about the inner truth of something. In this case, the world. 7) Finally, he's going to be a spiritual guide to Russ (drummer of the Gorillaz) and try to help you (the listener) during the current troubled time (which might either be the current day, but is probably a sort of post-apocalyptic future given the number of references to the future in the song). He this is also a mention of himself in person, Del the Funky Homosapien, who will sort of help the new group get together, even though he's not officially part of it. I personally don't believe in mysticism or whatever, but I'm familiar enough with various schools of thought to recognize the general theme of the rap. For those who dig intelligent rap, and like Del's rather unique rapping style, check out Deltron 3030, which has got to be my favorite rap album of all time. |

| Fergie – Glamorous Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The song is about how she's still a normal girl even though she's rich. Whatever. What gets me is that she pronounces glamorous like cl__orous. I don't know if it's intentional though. | |
