I'm surprised to be the first one to comment on this... it's so calming and sexy at the same time. To me, it reminds me of wanting someone so much and loving them even though you both know that there is some form of barrier between the two of you at the time being. It could be fear from one or both people of making themselves vulnerable by giving into their feelings. It reminds me so much of a love circumstance that I'm in- so exciting yet so frustrating at the same time. And I'm officially jealous of Fergie beyond words at this point, lol. |

I like everyone's takes, but to me, I agree the most that there is no real "Virginia," he's just singing about the feelings, hopes, and imperfections of himself and how he longs to meet the girl who will be just like that. He'll fall in love with someone. He may be an "outcast" or simply just like the rest of us- a flawed human with his own unique quirks and needs. And simply "Virginia" will be the perfect woman for that. |

Sounds to me like a follow-up from her song Bleeding Love, doesn't it?
The process of getting over the man that you just cannot be with or stay with can be heart wrenching. She hasn't accepted or adapted to this process yet in Bleeding Love, but now she has come to terms with it. It is still sad, but it's on a lighter, more optimistic note. The thought of the two songs possibly being connected makes Leona's singing seem so real and genuine.
On a side note- and please don't take offense to this, but I laughed at my sudden thought of this song being about herpes. I mean seriously- "it's gonna hurt when it heals too" ... "it'll all get better in time" ... "I'm gonna smile cuz I deserve to" ... "don't want to let it hurt my feelings / and I know that time will heal it." Before anyone insults me- I have HSV-1 (the non-STD type of oral herpes) so I can say what I want about it! ;-) |

I love this song- it's both calming and powerful.
I liked hearing the alternative meaning to it besides love/relationships. It definitely works for that, but it applies to really any kind of link between you and someone or something that you're overcoming. |

I see two meanings that work beautifully with this song, which can also work beautifully together. One is that it's about trying to succeed in your passion and feeling so close yet so far away. It's about not wanting to blow your opportunities and not understanding when thing's don't work out the way you thought they should've. It's saying that you will understand in the end, and the journey will all be worth it.
Secondly, I see it about giving yourself time to grow. That you shouldn't beat yourself up through your frustrations of feeling as though you can't act or appear the way you want to. You're getting there, one step at a time, through all of the trials and frustrations. |

I'm sure nobody will see this, but I found it pretty annoying that nearly everyone's comments were calling the song and band stupid. Okay, so the song doesn't have an earth-shattering meaning or incredible sound, but my point is that the people calling it stupid obviously never heard any of Eiffel 65's other songs. Those of you calling them a "one hit wonder" need to realize that they're ITALIAN and HUGE in their country. I wish their success America would've lasted longer. Another English song from the Europop album did air on the radio, but I can't recall which one. Anyway, if anyone sees this, I strongly suggest you listen to some of their other songs. The deep meaning and unique style of their English album really impressed me. |

I definitely agree with everyone's takes on the song here. I'm actually moving out to LA this summer for my dream of working in the entertainment industry, so at first, I naturally wouldn't want to listen. But the more I heard it, it grew on me so much as I realized the importance of family, friends, love, and support, which this song emphasizes so well. It's a good message to remember, knowing that this country DOES have more good than bad- the bad is just louder. |

| The Calling – We're Forgiven Lyrics

I believe that this song has a spiritual significance to it. With so much poverty and distress in this world, our spoiled lifestyles often go without appreciation or effort to do what's right. When he says, "You can't tell me we're forgiven," it's like he knows that we ARE forgiven, but it seems so crazy and surreal that we can be loved that much no matter what we do. It's easy for us to think that we have it so bad or get caught up in our own situations, but the singer is taking a step back and looking at the big picture. He says, "I say I'm sorry, and I'll sure change, you know this just could me someday," and he's getting a reality-check by really putting things into perspective. The beginning with "I'd like to think...the best is still to come" reminds me that there is a heaven after earth and "But who am I to judge what is sent from above" means that although the circumstances of this world are confusing and many of us aren't doing anything about it, he can't give up or assume things when he knows that the higher being is in control and we cannot understand His ways down here as humans.
This song is so beautiful and well-done, I'm surprised it never gained the popularity it deserved. |

It seems to be about a relationship in which everyone thinks that the girl is crazy for liking the guy, but she loves him so much that none of their opinions matter. |

To me, this song sounds like it's about someone who had to leave her familiar surroundings in order to find herself and realize what she wanted out of the world. The person singing was probably her significant other- this situation happens in real life quite often. I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard a fan of theirs say that this song was inspired by a dream of the singer's. |
