Bon Jovi – Last Man Standing Lyrics 18 years ago
"See those real live calloused fingers
Wrapped around those guitar strings
Kiss the lips where hurt has lingered
It breaks the hart to hear him sing"
Stirs up thoughts of Johnny Cash for me.

Oasis – Some Might Say Lyrics 18 years ago
"Some might say they don't believe in heaven
Go and tell it to the man who lives in hell"

That line always makes me think of the first verse of John Lennon's Imagine.

Audioslave – The Last Remaining Light Lyrics 18 years ago
Love it.
I tend to agree with the 'apocalypse' idea for the meaning of this one. Or, if not the apocalypse, maybe someone who is expecting the end of the world, making it not-so inevitable.
'And, of you don't believe the sun will rise,'
Then, again, it could be a metaphor for depression, someone stuck in a place within themselves, that's so dark, that they never believe that 'the sun', the good times, will rise again, hence return.
All down to interpretation, which is what's so great about these lyrics.

Oasis – The Importance Of Being Idle Lyrics 18 years ago
'I can't get a life if my heart's not in it'
Such a perfect line.
Quite the straight forward song, really.
All about doing nothin', one of my favourite things to do! :)

Audioslave – Somedays Lyrics 18 years ago
'I don't care for somedays'
Says it all, really.
Great song, what's with the negativity?

Audioslave – Moth Lyrics 18 years ago
Love this song. Nice little gem to end the last Audioslave album with.
I believe it's about Cornell's prior struggle with drugs, but the good thing about his lyrics, is they seem to tie into a real life situation you, yourself, are going through. I guess that's the same with most good lyrics, though.

Chris Cornell – Pillow Of Your Bones Lyrics 18 years ago
'Like a painted fever in recoil, like a lie without the pain'
The way he sings that, is just great, makes the song.
As for a meaning, it's a hard one to dicypher, for sure.

Chris Cornell – No Such Thing Lyrics 18 years ago
Brilliant song. Definitely agree with the above, the song seems reasonably self explanatory... the video on the other hand, not so much! Haha.
