| Soilwork – The Bringer Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I was listening to The Bringer while going to the university, trying to interpretate it differently. The lyric/poetic subject (lyric self) was "enlightened" about something: "A bitter message from heaven sent It says we're asleep at the wheel again" Then it started being tormented and gives us an advice: "Repress what's before your eyes, gather the spirits and hypnotize", probably because it got into problems for saying something that shouldn't be said ("Those words will always make you pay"). Also about "Repress what's before your eyes", it seems the lyric self saw something that made it neurotic or jealous ("Forcing us to play a neurotic role") and now tries to erase those images: "Oh, won't you take this thing out of me It never leaves me alone" And that's how I interpreted this song, folks. Is it just me or someone else is listening "Everything sets our way to go away"? |
