everybody keeps talking about what this song means like they actually know...the true meaning of this song that which the listener gets to decide. you people getting anal bout people not agreeing with you is ridiculous. this song, along with 75% of all the other pearl jam songs, is meant for the listener to get their own interpretation out of it. this way everybody can relate to it and thats also why so many people love pearl jam. i hope that ends a long state of confusion on everybody's part and hopefully all the arguing. |

I just took this song to heart. i hadnt heard this song in about 3 years since i used it in a wedding video montage. i was surprised to find it sneaking into one of my dreams involving a girl i have been in love with for about 2 years now. she doesnt know and it makes me think im ready to tell her. |

haha does anybody have an interpretation of this songs meaning? because i honnestly cant find any meaning behind it. it is just awesome with a bunch of words thrown together that rhyme. he is obviously talking about how life is short and you need to have fun..but thats about all i can figure out. |

canon in D....but not just put in the lyrics but in the melody as well. this is the only song that uses pachelbel in the propper way. canon was a hook in itself so thats why its used for hook. though canon is used in just about every song ever written. so that doesnt seem too amazing haha....dont believe me? watch this

hahaha yeah it sounds like sex with girls around the world. but yet you also have to think of what other meanings signify. the only reason i signed up on this site was because of this song. they played it on california screamin at disneyland for 4 strait months. i dont think they would have allowed the song had it been about sex with women around the world, which is what most of you seem to think about it. |
