I agree with that this song is about being on tour all the time. Especially with the line "once again you've had to greet me with goodbye" - clearly showing how, being in the band, he's always on the move and doesnt get to see her very often/for very long. And he obvisouly recognises how difficult it is not just for him, but for her as well coz she "cry"s. I think the "hands between your thighs" thing is sexual because in an everyday normal situation, i dont ever lay like that. And the way, in the last verse, he ends it "and a smile" makes me think it might be a seductive kind of smile.... "The knife twists at the thought that I should fall short of the mark" shows that he has some anxiety. Perhaps scared that in his absence she may have found someone better?? Quality song. Bit different from the rest but nonetheless, still good. Only the Arctic Monkeys could get the words "45 minute drive" into a song and still have it sound good!! :) |
