I think it is more about growing up. Most people follow the life track of school, high school, (college), job/career. (choose between a b or c... Free will, but still a recipe for life) Whereas the restless are those who grow up as musicians or in the music scene where their futures aren't exactly guaranteed, or those who simply choose not to follow the usual track of life. (will we be restless for the rest of our lives?) And as the restless grow up they will remember things like making out with a girl in a car and secretly copying a friend's cd collection. |

This song has absolutely nothing to do with The Barber's Unhappiness (which is based off of a short story by George Saunders). Part one of this song is actually a parody on "don't take my sunshine away" that Shawn has occasionally solo'd in concert. |
