You my mp3 player has had a recent kick of mutemath and after a long excruciating day at work I can really relate to this song. I'm trying to find a new job, and the first verse nails it... "plotting how to build myself to be - everything that i am not at all" really shows how hard i want to move out of my job and yet the experience that I lack in where I want to go. With the statement "why must i work so hard..." is a great parallel to the thankless job that I do yet I still like to get my paycheck and enjoy spending some money (wishing I was making more in my mind though)... all in all - i'm just one of them, those broken people, in a rut trying to get out. |

If you also love this song, another take on Nate's family is with his other band: fun.
"The Gambler" another gem. |

Best part is when I listened to this song "On Your Porch" from The Format instantly popped into my head. I love his autobiographical songs. Amazing job Nate! |

I almost think hes talking like he is the house or the floor himself.
"watch you play in the dirt" like a house is watching you grow up, always getting trampled on "i just dont get
dry, not anymore" just my 2 cents. |
