I think he's basically saying that comfort and routine robs you of freedom in a sense. When we lose that comfort and routine we get a bit fearful of the freedom since it's so uncertain. It's about getting over that fear. Fight Club said it well, "It's only after you've lost everything that you're free to do anything." |

I'm almost certain this is in reference to Martin Luther King, Jr. The joke is how differently they fought/fight for things. I don't think anyone like Bush should be allowed to speak in a 20 mile radius of where MLK spoke. |

I think this song is about a hostile, unstable and lonely person dying from a disease. He wants someone there with him but because of his ways it's extremely hard, if not impossible. He knows what's in store for him so he begins to question everything about his beliefs to try to get out of it.

I was thinking the whole STD angle the first time I heard it. It just seems to fit in with Pretty Girls, and just the title "Unprotected Sex With Multiple Partners." I know what "Unprotected Sex With Multiple Partners" is really all about, but the title could have a double meaning. I also can't imagine Against Me! talking about killing themselves or anyone. Way too emo for them. =) |
