Mumford & Sons – I Gave You All Lyrics 13 years ago
The line "How can you say your truth is better than ours?" smacks undeniably of religion and so I wonder if this song isn't about the person's loss of faith. In another song Mumford sings of the "shame that sent me off from the God that I once loved", so perhaps it's a continuation of that idea?

I do like the idea of the Irish War of Independence though, that seems to fit nicely.

The Wombats – Jump Into The Fog Lyrics 14 years ago
On the radio there was a quote from one of the band members saying that this was: "loosely based on a night I had in Bergen when we toured there back in the day, before we had a record deal or anything. I don't know it's just quite a nihilistic, debaucherous song about having promiscuous sex!"

Regina Spektor – Human of the Year Lyrics 14 years ago
"Human, human of the year, you are"

I think it's supposed to be:

"Human, human of the year and you've won"

Regina Spektor – Machine Lyrics 14 years ago

"Living in your pre-war apartment
Soon to be your post-war apartment"

Now that's an ominous lyric if I ever heard one... :D

Maroon 5 – Wake Up Call Lyrics 18 years ago
I like this song, and I just find it interesting, the lyrics:
"I didn't hear what you were saying
I live on raw emotion baby"
and then later:
"If you needed love
Well then ask for love"

Doesn't that just explain how this whole 'situation' arose? :P

Josh Groban – Solo Por Ti Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is beautiful, but somehow chilling... perhaps with all the talk of infinity and eternity.

Josh Groban – February Song Lyrics 18 years ago
It seems to me like it could be about fame, and how it's completely crazy and people so easily slip away from their friends and family... lose sight of what's real.
