i think its about tryin to find yourself.. "its not that she walked away, her world got smaller, all the usual places, the same destinations, only something changed" and "she just wants to be" could all be refering, shes changing to suit her but shes confused, and people are wondering why she wants to change because "its not that she wasnt rewarded.." |

Now I;v heard every FOB song ever done and can safely say this IS my favourite..i have laods of favs but if i had to pick one this would be it, the lyrics, the music the sound its brill it seems to be like a "metaphorical murder" if that makes sence?? "drink down that gin and kerosene" and then "light a match to leave me be" well kerosene is HIGHLY flamable right? then boviously "wear me like a locket around your throat , i'll weight you down i'll watch you choke, yoo look so good in blue"... the lyric "yoo look so good in blue" is a metaphore within its self, it doesnt mean "wow nice top, blue suits ya" its "your choking here, u cant breath, your going blue and it looks good" as for "the hand behind this pen relives a failure everyday" ..does anyone else think thats a refrence to pete? he writes the lyrics so surly he would be the hand behind the pen? dunno.. |

its another song thats clearly got some dedication to the fans "every dot coms refreshing for a journal update" i as a fan can say thats true, i foten sit there refreshing for journal updates.. "make us poster boys for your scene" well they "emos" most populer poster boys and most of the scene kids are obssed by that "long live the car crash hearts" refering again to the fans the most obvious refrences are of course: "crowds are one lost and one again but our hearts beat for the diehards" i am a member of OCK (fobs official fan club) and was told when i signed up "this is a place for us to keep our true fans close so that we keep them by our side untill the end"..the diehards, the ones who will do anything and obviously there is the bit at the begining on the album "we dedicate this album to anyone people said couldnt make it, to the fans that held us down till everybody came around..." brilliant song, one of the best on the album xx |

Dudes and dudettes, some good and intresting points have been made here, however after seeing an interveiw with pete i realised something about the lyric "and the lies just wont stop slipping" Pete sufferes with depression, and will have since a teenager been asked and been seeing councilers. I have had to see themin the past aswell and one thing I can relate bout how i felt to Pete is, you find it so hard to tell them the truth. Yoo lie to make things sound easier and "the lies just wont slipping" the song is obviously about a guy and girl, and although the lies thing is most likely to do with their relationship, it just sounded like something he said in an interveiw once |
