I'm not exactly sure what this song means, though it seems to be about a doomed relationship. (Like Lacuna Coil do so well at expressing about.) To me it seems to be about not being able to be with someone you love. Or in more detail, about having someone who loved you, and then when you finally begin loving them, they don't want you. You were too late to "have" them. Now the person is driving you crazy, and you can't stop thinking about them. (And "can't stay away" from them either.) I have MANY more ideas, however that idea seems to make the most sense to me. This is quite possible my favorite Lacuna Coil song, though I have many. I feel I can really connect with this song. Cristina has so much passion in her voice when she sings this, and it makes the whole song flow so nicely. It leaves me with the feeling of a pit in my stomach. Such a beautiful song. And for anyone who doesn't know, this was off of the Enjoy The Silence single. |

First off, nearLY is an amazing band. They deserve so much more popularity than they have. The start of the band is amazing, considering most of the inspiration was from a reccuring dream Jerome had. Anyways, this song is actually about the girl Mary Vincent. She was hitchiking I believe and made the mistake of riding with someone who cut off her arms and hands. She also got raped. I know how annoying that must sound, but that's what it says on the site itself. It does definitely fit the description maybelline posted above: "making simple mistakes that will prevent you from living life to the fullest." I love this song...I think it's my favorite nearLY song. The quiet piano version is beautiful too. It gives you so many emotions, you don't even know what it is you're feeling. To me, at least. |
