hmm ive read threw a couple of the pages on here, and some of you got it... I personally think it is about a guy who made mistake upon mistake, and then he goes to prison for a very long time. he starts praying to god for forgiveness. anyways, hes realeased and then decides he cant do this anymore since he was so used to prison life. so he commits suicide in the ocean. "when the ocean met tthe sky" to me is saying once youve died there are no barriers anymore, like ocean. sky. mountains. everythign is one. So i think he dies but before he commited suicide he talked it over w/ a love one. and they are telling him theyll carry him with them always in their heart and stuff, hes responding with a positive side of the situation with stuff like.. "maybe once you die well live in Heaven together and grow old together" stuff like that but the other is an atheist..and hes telling him how much time he wasted. and how he spent all his time praying to a god who might not exist. and they just are hoping that his prayers werent wasted when he could have been bettering himslef in other ways. So then i think this loved one gets a little bitter and says something like, "tell me what you want out of this?" and he answeres ,redemption, and then they say, "well the only thing ull really get is away from me..and then they say not to waste the afterlife since he wasted so much of his real life" i think most of the song is about the conversation between these two. ok i agree w/ most of you that its about feeling like youve been seen the wrong way. like your feelings and actions were taken in the wrong tone. Anyways i jsut wanted to say that im SOOO glad Aaron made his own band. I love underoath, but id find myslef waiting for his singing parts. He has a great voice. I love The Almost, the way their little less hardcore than underoath but equally beautiful! |

ok so this guy is like madly in love this girl. But she doesnt really know yet. Hence his problem.He presents his presentaion in school and stuff but all he thinks is her. When he writes a letter for an assignment he wirtes in the corners and stuff about ehr. He passes his assign. forward with a foreword to her. But she never sees it. His treasure is torn out paper corners, wirting about her. So now hes in geometry hes learning figure A to B is so much and so on. But really hes thinking o wat it takes to get figure A (Himself) and figure B (Her) together and how much distance there is. Once he solves the equation he pictures there ending which could be sexual or realtionship w.e floats ur boat. So now hes set a date to talk to her or ask he rout or w.e and hes happy becuz it may be a far off chance but at elast hes making a start. the chorus is kidna liek him imagining himslef tell this girl that they cood be made for each toher and jsut wait and see but of course she is clueless. | I may not know much about Metric but i do beleive I understand this song... I believe it's about a girl who has been hurt and or unable to find true love. She can't stand to sleep alone because she's lonely so she grabs someone form a club, even if they are not interesting, She wants them to know how it feels to sleep in the same bed, but not really feel anything for the other one. She avoids begginers in sex because they only make her hopeful, which will only make her sink lower. | so ive heard the bert theory and the mafia theory, so i read the lyrics i and i got it... it makes total and complete sense to me. Bert is as we all kno a lil n the mesed up side, and gerard is quite clean. i think gerard was ok with berts ways at first but then he goes on tour or w.e and comes bak praying bert is changing, im guessing thay fought prior ro the leave.
