I think this song was oversimplified. The first and second verses is obviously memory, going through what happened. He was cheated on. Though maybe he cheated too? I gave me away I could have knocked off the evening But I was lonelily looking for someone to hold In a way I lost all I believed in And I never found myself so low He either cheated or had rebound sex. lol. Then, the chorus, where it keeps coming back to "You're coming home" it's kind of a nagging feeling. He's trying really hard to kind of put it out of his mind, but isn't doing so well. By the time he gets to "You haven't called yet" he has given up. He's waiting for the phonecall. Then the last verse, he ends up sleeping with this person, betraying himself because he doesn't want to feel lonely. |
