| The Faint – Forever Growing Centipedes Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"Let's build a Buckminster Dome on an island We'll seal ourselves in a timeless web" I don't think that "timeless web" is a reference to cryogenic freezing at all. Buckminsterfullerene is a molecular structure of carbon atoms, which forms a spherical web structure (do a google image search to see what I mean), and therefore he's talking about being beneath a dome of the molecule. Since the molecules are, obviously, very small, it seems to me that this verse links back to "Learn to postpone death under the microscope ", ie becoming so small that death can't find you. Could also mean that the earlier part of the song can also be read literally - a single centipede in a forest would be extremely hard to find, although you would then have the consequences of chosing to hide, part of which would be that you could only eat mushrooms and other things found in the forest - so maybe the song is saying that if you don't take risks and spend your whole time worrying about dying, you'll have a really dull life? |

This song seems to be listing loads of things that you can want but can't do anything about - telephone out of use and nothing you can do, same with an out of tune piano, and dreams of owning a helicopter, and into that he's thrown wanting this woman, because she falls into the same category of impossible and rather pointless wishes. And the 'my heart is crawling in the mud mud mud' line seems like he's purposely wallowing in the depression this is causing by dwelling on it in this song. So to me, this is a song which is purposely rather childish, in the "I want that" and "Oh poor me" sense. We all have days when this song is needed! XD |

No, I disagree. I think that the girl he loves is having a really hard time and doesn't even realise that he loves her and wants to help her, but he understands this and wants to make her safe again and bring her out of this low point, hence "If you can't run 'cause I will carry You upon my back until you're safe" and "the box they keep you sealed in" |

| Snow Patrol – The Finish Line Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think that this song is about an accident, hence the talk of "wounds" and the reference to police radios, but he doesn't die, he's just in hospital either unconsious or in a coma and he wakes up at the end, taking a deep breath and going through the accident in his mind before taking a deep breath and opening his eyes to whoever's with him and calling his name | |
