When I first got into dance music in 91 i was amazed at the amount of DJ's, groups and producers out there throwing a few beats and samples together and calling it a "Tune". Then along came Faithless who blew everyone away with Insomnia and i haven't looked back since. That tune made the hair on the back of my neck stand up on end and that never really happened again until Faithless bought out this tune Music Matters. Damn right it matters...if music can make someone sit up in their seat, blare the telly up at 11:30 at night with a baby in bed upstairs and start bopping. Or to lift someone up when all in life seems hopeless then i totally believe Music Matters,I think I can safely say that Music Matters is THE one song I would give as the definitive example of how music, whatever the genre, should make a person feel. It is a positive, uplifting, melodical masterpiece that should be framed and held up as a shining example of how to do music properly..Faithless still knocking out great tunes with meaning ,mixing up all their influences on their albums ,and backing them up with great remixes ..a stunning tune. steve jared |
