im probably wrong, but this song to me seems like Adalae is a sly-talking, manipulating ("you're only precious til you meet your needs" and "you always get your way") girl who has always wanted to be famous and keeps telling people she one day will be- "you say we'll see you on the silver screen" and "your only enemy's the calender"- meaning its only time and how its flying past that is getting in the way. like, hes singing to a woman who is well past the age of becoming famous yet she still believes she'll make it... and in the first verse, i think the "town" hes refering to is HollyWood... i think by the end, everyone knows she'll never make it and that her lifes down the drain "It's ok cause everybody knows your circumstance" but she still tries and still puts up this front that shes worth alot, "And you know you're only worth what you get paid" (a play on words, this could be a compliment in her eyes and an insult in his?), "Nobody can buy your love" i think that last one is also a play... like, you might say that to someone who was nice because you know they're a good person whio can't be bought... but hes saying it to her because she thinks shes worth far more money than anyone would pay... meh xxx||xxx |

i think it's about a guy whose in a happy relationship but then this other girl comes along and he just cant turn her down because shes this girl who "can't behave and (he's) just a slave" and he "loves the girls who love to hate" so he ends up having a one night stand. "i fall in love for the night" but makes it clear he ONLY wants that night, "i'll be gone when the morning comes." BUT THEN when he thinks its all over and it was just one whirlwind night, SHES BACK saying to him all the things they did and he just has to deny it because he doesnt want it to happen again cos hes happy with his other girl. but she's this irresistable thing and their night happens again. "You know, you love all the lies So don't act suprised That I just love to hate you" that kinda shows what i mean, he loves to hate her and say shes just some random girl who likes to lie about things. but she loves all the lies and it kinda spurs her on...lol meh. :] xx||xx |
