Maybe it isn't about drugs, but it could be a metaphor for any destuctive habit. It's obvious digging my own grave to keep me level is doing somthing that is harmful to yourself but it's easier than taking the high road and working it out. Jamming another dragon down the hole would seem to mean to sort of just taking whatever is causing the problem in again for a little relief. Digging to the rythem of a solitary siren means that there is an isolated part of yourself that is going off telling you to stop but instead you continue and ignore it. It almost keeps you going and makes you desperate and ravenous for just some relief. So you feel weak and powerless to solve this dilemma.
Im going to guess that feeding the monkey would maybe mean take care of your loved ones or responsibilities while your off abusing yourself. Maybe digging to China is a metaphor for working to a goal that you will never acheive. Your white as dracula because you've been sitting in the dark and are consumed by your problems, which makes you feel sick and you turn pale.
It's obvious that the little angel is knowing what your doing is self destructive but you listen to your,"devil" or a quick fix to give yourself a brief break that only makes things worse.
I could be wrong and it could actually just be about drigs but I think it's a metaphor for a deeper meaning, and could be used for any problem like this. |

I don;t think it's that much about alcohol but it can be tied to the song. It's about looking for mappiness but never finding it, and eventually it's all what keeps us going in life, so your pretty much just denying the inevitable... If you watch the video for it it's some guy just walking around searching for somthing I don't think he even knows what, it just keeps us going sometimes. |
