| Say Hi – Spiders Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Correct lyrics, with proper formatting: And I haven't asked for much since I met her Some courage and maybe some heart But Jupiter, please, will you raise your fists And mend all that keeps us apart? There's the thing with her father The thing with me broken Her new jealous ex and the press And each of them not much worse than the other But still pretty bad, nonetheless Because there's spiders under my skin when she's not around And there's spiders creeping 'round next to organs I need And there's spiders under my skin when she's not next to me And there's spiders breeding armies Happily tethered to their funny spouses With drooling babies on the way With bright colored sweaters that glow in the dark Can't you make us be more like them? There's the thing with her girlfriends The whole feeling nothing The geography of it all And each of them not much worse than the other But still pretty bad all-in-all. And there's spiders under my skin when she's not around And there's spiders creeping 'round next to organs I need And there's spiders under my skin when she's not next to me And there's spiders breeding armies |

| Right Away, Great Captain! – Right Ahead, Young Sailor! Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I love this song. It's pretty self-explanatory, I think. Seems to me that the sailor and his captain are talking back and forth to each other about the sailor's current problems. Incredible, I only wish it was a longer song. |

Does the line: "Rosemary, Heaven restores you in life" Remind anyone else of Rosemary Kennedy? The rest of the song doesn't fit her at all, but I don't know...that line really reminds me of Rosemary Kennedy. She was pretty much completely broken for the majority of life, I can only imagine that when she died (and presumably went to heaven) she was restored. *shrugs* |

| Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Love Song No. 7 Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Call me crazy, but when I hear this song I think of obsession and rape. "Now that you're here it seems every one of us seems to take the wrong way home" Someone (likely female) took the wrong way home, and was abducted, taken where she didn't want to be. "Now that you're safe with me Trying to get a handle on the name of love" The person who abducted her has known about her for quite some time, has been following her or stalking her. Might have deluded himself into believing that she loves him, and most certainly believes he loves her. "Safe and sound So safe for now You're safe and sound So safe for now Safe and sound So safe for now We're safe and sound So safe, oh no" The abductor reassuring the woman, telling her it's all going to be all right, she's safe with him now. "How does it taste to when you're screaming away your loved man (As you walk away, it makes you feel sweet, warm)" She screams too much, says something that triggers him, or something along these lines, and is killed. Walking away is a metaphor for going to heaven. Heaven would certainly feel sweet and warm compared to being stolen away. "Doctor said, "Son, you should carry a gun, all right?"" The woman may have been with someone, her boyfriend or just a friend, when she was abducted, and he was knocked out or hurt in some way. The rest of the song, I have no idea...but I just figured I'd take a stab at it. This is what the song means to me, so I may as well share. =D |
