i don't think it's about falling in love, but more about walking away and giving up on it. "driving away from the wreck of the day" to me this is like walking aways from a bad relatioship. "the lights always red in the rear veiw" means you can't go back, once you've walked away from love, it's over, or that's the way she was feeling when she wrote this, i think |

To me, this song is about religion and hypocrites. It's talking about how when he goes to church people pry a him and try to get him to get "saved" and how the church might be true, but it's so different then he imagined it would be cuz random people come up to him and ask him the most personal things. he's also talking about how they try to make people believe. i totally love this song, it's one of the best by emery. |

Well, from not only the lyrics, but from the music video, i think it is about your past haunting you. in the video, he looks in a mirror and sees himself (with black hair like he used to have) and the old him starts pulling him in.

I think this song is about mormons and sticking it to them. my parents used to make me go to church, so i can understand wat they are saying.
"do i drink, do i date?" those are the kind of questions people ask behind your back in churches. they are judging and thinking you might be going astray.
"satisfied, in your eyes, i'm the biggest fan i've got right now." i think he's saying he's satisfied with his way of life, doesn't care wat they think and he might be the only one supporting himself. that's just wat i think tho |
