| Mischief Brew – The Dreams of Morning Lyrics | 12 years ago |

"The dreams are of the morning Let me not die mourning" "We all go laughing to story-telling graves" Still having trouble figuring out the mother/father line in the 2nd verse. Might check a live vid or two to listen for a better recording :). |

| The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – Don't Worry Desmond Dekker Lyrics | 16 years ago |

It pretty much sums up how they felt during their years apart after they broke up. Note that they broke up for 5 years. They came back together after 5 years to find that they're all exactly the same as they were before. I believe Tim (tenor sax) described it as "We came back together after 5 years to find we were all the same bunch of immature assholes that we used to be." So, to me, this song seems to be about how their lives after The Bosstones, and then realizing nothing had really changed between them in all the five years that they were apart. And that after all that time, they're still down-to-earth...they know where they came from, and they're still influenced by the same sounds as always. Their ability to be true to what they love makes them a very unique band. I saw them live not that long ago with Dropkick Murphys...and I was proud to be able to sing along with this song at the show. This song is very meaningful to me. |

"why preserve a dying craft and it's misery" We sigh and say, "Another modern man, one of property not land... So I hold out this battered hand, will ya' listen..." |

The lyrics are wrong. Just thought I'd point that out. This song has a much different feel when the 2nd verse is correct. So you say you've got a wood stove in your second home Runs on gas but looks like oak Hell, it even gives off smoke and glowing embers There’s a quilt hung on the wall reads ‘Home Sweet Home’ Below some wise word from Thoreau And they call me ‘throwback’ when I cry “Remember!” |

| It ain't a cover...Tomas Kalnoky wrote the song. He was the lead singer of catch 22 before he made Streetlight Manifesto. | |
| Bob Marley and the Wailers – Three Little Birds Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I'm thinking that this song is really just as plain as it appears. I don't really think Bob Marley fused some hidden meaning into this one...just pure inspiration and hope for a better tomorrow. And...umm...it might help some to know that Bob Marley was a well known Rastaman. Rastas consider cannabis to be a sacred plant, and smoke it as part of their religious activities. So there will ALWAYS be a connection between Bob Marley and the plant...whether it has anything to do with the song or not, it's part of the man. |

This became one of my favorite songs since the very first time I ever heard it. The song, to me, is a reminded that you can't always worry about everything all the time. Take time away from your worries to enjoy life...there's more to life than sorrow...you just have to stop worrying and live! This song holds a vast amount of emotion, just like all of Bob Marley's other songs. This song means almost as much to me as Three Little Birds...the perfect song to listen to when I'm feeling down. Bob reminds me not to worry, and to focus on the things that make me happy, even if they're just the small, simple everyday pleasures of life. |

| Nightwish – Over the Hills and Far Away (Gary Moore cover) (feat. Tony Kakko) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

...I agree. They made it very obvious that it's about a man who slept with his best friend's wife. He was framed for robbery but didn't want to give his alibi because the night in question he was with his friend's wife and didn't want it to be known. So...because he can't give his alibi, he is found guilty. After that, the song is about his friend's wife waiting for the day that he will return. Despite what happened, she still wants to be with him. I really shouldn't need to say this...but the only difference between poetry and song is that songs is music. The music isn't all there is to a song, music is just noises synchronized together in a calculated beat and pitch. Music alone has no words. The common term "Song" is simply referring to poetry sang over music. Also...words have meaning, regardless of whether or not this meaning teaches a lesson. Therefor all songs with lyrics have meaning. Oh...and also...if a band didn't intend for a song to have some sort of meaning, don't you think the song would simply be instrumental? If they didn't want meaning, there wouldn't be lyrics. |

| Nightwish – She Is My Sin Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I've always loved this song...the first time I heard the chorus I got goosebumbs ^^;;. It's an amazing song. I think my favorite line would be "In the meadow of sinful thoughts every flower's a perfect one" because it's just so true. Alright...my interpretation... Sounds like she wants to sin for this man (Use your imagination), but is afraid of the consequences of such an action. The first line suggests that it might be cheating and the line about the burning veil in the chorus further solidifies that theory. It like the man she's talking about is cheating on someone by being with her, which is also suggested by "The burning veil for the bride too dear for him." That's what I got...Regardless though, a beautiful song. |
