lots of armenians are unfortunately past-oriented people. turkish people accept that there was an amount of 1 million armenians that were killed in the first quarter of 20th century. **but** we, turks, are much more rational that we know it was the worst feature of the "war". did you ever think about what these "slaughter turks" had been into during this process? west side: nearly all countries in europe were against ottoman empire, north-east side: russia and its authrity, south and south-east side: egypt, ıraq, iran under the control of france and united kingdom. it was like an "everyone is against us" situation. in present day it is a motto still used: "a turk has no friend except another turk", born in those years.. the geo-politic importance of our country was the reason of it, and of course the "christian club" europe was in an unbelievable hatred against islam... armenians, kurds, and other minorities were agitated by these super-powers of the world and brotherhood was broken. the nations that lived togaether in peace for centuries suddenly lost the self-control, taken in the effect of primitive-basic instincts. and so on.. turks killed 1 million armenians, i sincerely accept it. but there are lots of documents that proof that armenians were too in this act of blood with 600.000 turks dead. i don't understand why you armenians don't admit it and accept this bullshit as a fuckin' war.. there was no try for a genocide, there was only "defence". of course kids and women were killed too, i don't deny but in the war -i'm sorry but- you can't categorize people to be killed or not. if there is a woman standing with a gun in the hand before a soldier, she gets killed, there are no rules, no ethique, because THERE IS NO FUCKIN LOGIC IN THE FUCKIN' WAR.. i can just give my apologies for the things happened, for what my ancestors did. and as well, you can do so. but writing songs of hatred, destruction, agitation and overrated reality ain't the solution. as i said in the begining of my text, armenians are past-oriented but it just makes them much more angry against life. i read the comments and i just see depression, hatred and desperation. i read the rudest words against turks. of course i see that there are smart writings but somewhere inside, the anger still lies.. pluck and that kind of songs are JUST the face of fascism. and fascism is the most dangerous ideology ever.. i think everyone knows about hrant dink, the assessinated journalist. he was totally armenian and living in istanbul. and as i saw the news, that he was dead, i just felt a deep grief inside. he was an armenian and ("and", not "but") when i looked at him i always saw a real humanist, a graceful person and of course it was enough to feed respect.. when he was alive, he said, "it's a sickness to replace your identity in accordance of one another's. if you need an enemy to perpetuate your identy, then it is a sick identity."... if you are able to find his articles, please read them. system of a down is just pathetic, as every fascist, racist, anti-humanist, spiteful person is pathetic before my eyes. understand that history is history, doesn't matter if it shows the truth or lies, if it is beautiful or ugly; we live in the "present", and we need to save the day, by planning the future. there will be no restitution because some day all of the people -armenians too- will see that war is heck, and we owe no cursed shit to each other.. if you still choose to disgorge plague, i will show respect to that too, unfortunately feeling sorry for this ignorance.. |
