I already left a comment on this already. but the song means that the the guy stark sees how beautyful this girl is with simple beautyful things like smoke dfriting out of a car window. or when he says I followed the flash of silver from your teeth above the tarmac the lights were icy-green...... Buried in patterns in your chest. a quiet shimmering: little dipper, tiara-shine, song bird shivery, thin thin dime he sees all these beautyful things about her and he does not give a fuck if she loves someone else he lovers her anyway. or atleast thats how i feel about the song. |

there is this awesome live recoarding of the song night on the sun. not sure where it came from and I am going to ask a guy if he knows because I am a loser and have modest mouse fan myspace friends. but anyway there at the end of the song it branches off to spilt milk factory. my guess it was the begaining lyrics to the song and or an improve or something. but heres a link to the song. not to sure how long it will be active to download. myspace me at knowreailty if need it still. |

| Yes this song is "repetitive" but so is alot of his other bootleg songs that are most likely impoved. but hey he is pretty good at it. and the song sounds really good so i really like it. the bootleg version of the song i have has him ending the song by singing the song "Lives". so i really like it personaly. | |

‘‘At home on a boat, it's a fish trap'' I think that this is meaning that he is lost out at sea with out the person who does not love him anymore. He is out there still thinking about the person he love but is trapped cause he knows there is no way escaping his feeling for the person he loves. Its just he is trapped everywhere thinking about this person weather it be at home or on a boat. There is no way for him to escape his feeling so he moves away to Alaska to try and forget about her. Its cold frozen and alone up there. Which is funny when you think of it Alaska has a two to one percentage of men up there. There’s not many women up there so its not like he has to move on. I guess you can really for get about some one if you move that far. And you would probably not find a girl that reminds you of the crazy lover your trying to forget. I don’t know that last part I said was kinda stupid. |

| yeah it really should be the last song. okay its the best song i have ever heard in my whole life. i like it from the start of the song to the end. its all good. i love it. the song really makes me happy. but the end of the song might get on some peoples nervs and i think that it should be the last song so if the song does do that to your nurvs you could listen to the whole cd the beginging of that song and just turn it off when its stats to bug you. or you know save the best song for last and listen to the whole damn song. it is the best song. | |

yes i can agree Featherweightfather that isaac infact can point out what really is simple but so beautiful like smoke pooring out of a window of a car. or just really anthing and i think that he has gotten me through alot. which is lame to say that some i dont know has done. but i can listen to his words and feel less tong tied. I thought that I would just say... there is a girl that I am with. Well we always go back and forth. Long story... we have been on a break and things have just been kind of fucked up. We just went on a date. We were out late at night and it’s a weekday. And we hang out at this park and we sat in her car and ate food. And were driving home after we were done for the night. I wanted to tell her how I felt and I had her stop by at this construction site were there is this land development for new homes it has these street signs and streetlights. It’s basically complete with no house. Well at the end of the street there is this hill. I knew before we walked up it that it was the tallest hill in the whole city we live in. We both never have been up there. But I knew that there was just this open field and some trees and a beautiful view of the city and suburbs, which in my mind is pretty from up there. We had to walk for a bit to get to where you could see the whole city and everything. But we saw everything and we were not together at all at this point. I knew if we were up there I could tell her how I felt. I did not want to push her into anything. But we just ended up kissing and we had our arms around each other and our eyes closed. I don’t know if we are back together or not. We both know that we both really care about each other. But on the way home I had this song stuck in my head. This is such a good song. I think that almost any one can relate to this song in some way or another. Everything just felt as if it were Smoke like ribbons on the way home. |

| well this song is just about one of my most favs. it was in fact the first mm song i have herd and have been into them so much in the past year. its a good song and i think it has alot to do with for getting and stuff. in the song he says ''I wanna remember to remember to forget you forgot me''. and there is alot of randomness in the song so i really like how its a song with meaning and randomness he say's ''Hit the deck, it's the decal man Standin' upside down and talkin' out of his pants''. does anyone know what that means? well all in all this is the first modest mouse song i herd and so on and what not... | |
