I love this song! My bf first introduced me to The Weepies. The World Spins Madly On. But I never bothered to listen to anything else. Well we've been going through some rough times. I saw this song on his myspace profile and looked it up. I think thats a good sign, right? I too think she's looking forward into the future (through the telescope) but as shes looking forward shes seeing some of the present (the guitar, humming the song), and the past (the warm coat she doesnt need anymore bc she finally has his arms to keep her warm and she doesnt need the suitcase either bc she can stop searching, she has found what she's looking for.) Bc you need to look at the past and the present to help shape the future. I also really like the line "Picking at a worried seam" bc that seems to be what a lot of people do. They worry obseessively about something so they keep picking at it and that can really ruin a reltaionship. I like how she also acknowledges that shes "such a prima donna" admitting that she understands her life isn't as bad as some but her need for him makes her unable to go on. |
