| The Beatles – I Want You (She's So Heavy) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Listening to the tone and lyrics, I feel like the song is the story of a rape. It begins slow and smooth, with the flirtation of the woman and man. It’s starts to quicken and get sexier as the song goes, as the woman leads the man on. This continues, until the doom and dread starts to kick in, when the man has had his last straw of being teased and can’t take it, and snaps. The dread gets louder and louder until it peaks and suddenly cuts off, embodying the rape and the sudden, quick end to the woman’s life. | |
| Miniature Tigers – Dino Damage Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Muammar is right IMO. I think these guys are ridiculously whimsical. They might have a deeper meaning, but I think initially that's what you're supposed to think. | |
| The Early November – A Bigger Meaning Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song gives me fucking chills every goddamn time. I love it so much... |
|
| ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – Let It Dive Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I need to know what the russian at the end means. | |
| Chairlift – Planet Health Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I love this song so much. It's like someone took what was so bad about the eighties, and made it good, musically. And as to the meaning, that quote is exactly what I thought, but not so straight forward or literal. I was thinking it was just a reflection on the modern view of body image and health. It's a testament that the perfect, healthy lifestyle just isn't healthy for the mind. This is an idea I have always been adamant about. I love the lilting, dreamy tone of this song, as if everyone singing it is in a trance. Then the chanting of "Stop Drop and Roll." It's as if everyone is repeating it as a prayer to safety, and that the cry of "Stop!" is either a break from the mold of perfection, or a frenzied zealot of this "Planet Health" cult. |

| Modest Mouse – Blame It on the Tetons Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Fuck off. | |
| Portugal. The Man – People Say Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Definitely about the war on terror and in Iraq and how ridiculous and unnecessary it is. It is certainly a reference to Bush and his achievements in presidency. | |
| ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – Luna Park Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song really blew my mine the first time I heard it. Still does everytime, a real sleeper hit for this amazing album. | |
| Architecture in Helsinki – Do the Whirlwind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The little sitar interlude in this is so amazing. This song is so great. It's rythm is so awesome. BTW Don't hate me, I think it's a sitar. I'm not sure. |
|
| Architecture in Helsinki – Tiny Paintings Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| God, this song is so beautiful! It's so sad. But the hurt, timid and staggered voice he uses in the second stanza is so perfect, but it gets more and more angry as the song progresses. IT's sad that all of the songs on this album are so short, as they are all amazing. Protero Hill is possibly the greatest interlude in all of music. | |
| Architecture in Helsinki – The Cemetery Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This is one of their wackiest and happiest songs, and the lyrics are about death, but it's not a sad death. It's about a death that you are ready for, and that, if you've truly had your life and all it's experiences, you'll be fine with death. You've loved it, lived it, and it's time to move on. It's one of those lukewarm songs that makes you feel good inside. | |
| The Mars Volta – L'Via L'Viaquez Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Go fucking die. | |
| ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – Wasted State Of Mind Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I agree with Soleil. That's exactly how I portray this song in my head. | |
| ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – Gold Heart Mountain Top Queen Directory (Guided by Voices cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| No offence to all your personal opinions, but the original isn't half what this cover is. The original is so bland. This is so grand and powerful. I love it. And, by the way, this album is amazing, just as Worlds Apart is too. I haven't had a full listen to The Century of Self yet, but what Ive heard is promising. AYWKUBTTOD is amazing, my latest obsession. | |
| ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead – The Best Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I love the contrast of the upbeat riffs at the entrance of the song and the dark tomb-like slams later in... So good. | |
| The Mars Volta – Agadez Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Best part of this song, The crazy explosion at 5:15, makes me jam so hard every time. One of my favorites one the album, next to soothsayer and goliath. | |
| Mos Def – Rock N Roll Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Fuck mos... tell it. I hate that we, as white people, take credit for all of this, when it was all formed by black people. being white, I respect black people more than any other race, including my own. The things that they have done independent of white people, I owe some of the greatest parts of my life to. But what he is saying isn't that these artist's don't deserve respect, but they are getting too much of it, when the black artists, who created all of it, don't get enough respect. It's not an anti-white song. But think about what he said, "Elvis Presley ain't got no soul", does he have soul? Hell no! Same with Kenny G and Limp Biskit and Korn. He was just making a point. That's all. | |
| The Dear Hunter – 1878 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Bleed myself dry? Sounds like using a knife to me. | |
| The Dear Hunter – City Escape Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is fucking amazing. They remind me of TMV just because of their story. Every TMV album has been a story of some sort, but of course, this is a little mor direct. Great song though. Oh, and the song is called City Escape, so I think taht it's about Ms. Terri escaping from the city where she whored. | |
| The Mars Volta – Aberinkula Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I think this song is told from the point of view of the "Soothsayer" Have you seen the living Tired of their own shells All the non-believers Torso in the well This is the "Soothsayer" observing Omar and Cedric as they mess with it. The only thing to alter Stands in the way of you I want your cramps to fit the fillings of my teeth This is the "Soothsayer" wanting stuff from TMV. But the song is just a summary of the "Soothsayer" and it's dealings with TMV. Although opening strangely, it's not evil per say, but the song gets more hectic and evil sounding as it goes on, as the "Soothsayer" reveals itself to be the "Goliath" |

| Say Anything – Shiksa (Girlfriend) (feat. Caithlin De Marrais) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| And that also means that she's catholic, which continues to point out that she is a Shiksa or non-jewish girlfriend for a jewish man. All the conflict that would surround that would make me want to kill myself. | |
| Say Anything – Shiksa (Girlfriend) (feat. Caithlin De Marrais) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Oh and she's definately Irish. "Green Eyes" "Irish Beer" All References |
|
| Say Anything – Shiksa (Girlfriend) (feat. Caithlin De Marrais) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Sooooo... I'm pretty sure the meaning is somewhat straightforward, but it seems to be his disbelief about acquiring a love he had been pining over for a long time, she's obviously very beautiful, due to "I've been walking erect" line, buttt... that could also mean she inspired him, saying walking erect as tall and proud. But he seems to be so desperate for her love that no matter how she mistreats him and beats him, "he'll always be her whore". it's cut but there is a darker deeper meaning to it as well. Oh, and my fave song on the cd so far, next to "This is Fucking Ecstasy" and "Church Channel" which coincidentally are all in a row on the album. |
|
| Say Anything – The Church Channel (feat. Hayley Williams) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| The lead singer actually did go insane on tour one time and this is based on his experiences. It talks about his being at the mental institute and the confrontation of people after his episodes. | |
| Modest Mouse – Missed the Boat Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is a really good song, maybe my favorite on the album. I'm new to Modest Mouse, but I like almost everything I've heard so far, and I'm looking forward to some great music. My favorite line is"We were certainly uncertain, At least I'm pretty sure I am." Beautiful |
|
| The Shins – Phantom Limb Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| After listening to this CD many times, I never really realized until just before writing this down, that this and Pam Berry were different songs, I thought that Pam Berry was the beginning to this song. Well, It's a great song anyways | |
| Streetlight Manifesto – Somewhere in the Between Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I downloaded this album, yes. But, I did only to hear the music sooner. I'm definately buying the album, and I'm going to any show they have in the Sacramento, CA area. GO STREETLIGHT! |
|
| Streetlight Manifesto – Forty Days Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
All the horn work in this song, much more, the album, si fucking amazing. I believe this is their best album so far, content wise, because every song is amazing, whereas both keasbey and EGN had a song or two that I didn't enjoy that much, but every song on this album entices me with it's beauty and it's melody and it's meaning. Great Great Stuff |
|
| Flight of the Conchords – Leggy Blonde Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
HAHA OMG Murray SINGING!!!! Lol |
|
| Streetlight Manifesto – The Blonde Lead the Blind Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I truly love this song, for multiple reasons. All the horn work in this song is fucking amazing. All the lyrics are genius, and just the whole arrangement is beautiful. I think this might be the best song on their latest cd. |
|
| Tenacious D – Car Chase City Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Car Chase City, Now I'm Takin a Crap!!! Fucking Genius, but alot of these lyrics are wrong, please fix! |
|
| Tenacious D – History Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Ith ink the last lines are "Gonna Cum 123" Anyways, they do come in our ear pussies! |
|
| The Early November – 1000 Times A Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
One thing that kind of annoys me about this song is when he says "But then awhile later we got back together" That Ace went into such detail with every other situation and didn't explain one of the most important of them is a little annoying. But that's about it. |
|
| The Early November – 1000 Times A Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is a really interesting song, I really like it alot. It's very different compared to most songs because the story is told in a completely literal way, but I think my favorite part of the song is when Ace says, "Whenever I see you I still hear trumpets." and the trumpets blare. The one thing I like about this song is that it's probably true, and that it's a completely realistic love song. There are alot of "cinematic" romance songs and stories that just kind of annoy me in their inauthenticity. This song is completely plausible and ends in a romantic and beautiful way just as any "cinematic" story would. |
|
| The Early November – From Here To L.A. Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
remmbermaine, I think line 16 is "I'm pulling in for a storm" not planning. Oh and yeah definitly one of the best songs on the CD. |
|
| The Early November – Hair Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
And topher, aam, and alasan, who says all those beginning lyrics have to be to one person? Why would to people keep saying hello how are you to each other? That doesn't make sense. |
|
| The Early November – Hair Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Oh and all you people who consider this emo, that's just stupid. There's a difference between emo and a song with a sad meaning. Ska may have some sad or mean songs, but its still ska. These guys aren't emo, they're rock and that's all to be said. |
|
| The Early November – Hair Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song is really good, amazingly catchy, well written, and good instrumental work I aboslutely love the trombone solo in the middle, it just works all you haters out there have to admit this song has something. |
|
| The Beatles – A Day in the Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think this is either the best or second best on sgt peppers, next to getting beter or she's leaving home, but truely how can one compare on beatles song to another, they are all so diverse and amaziong, I certainly cant decide my favorite, all i can say is that these men were the best thing to hit the century if not the millenia | |
| The Beatles – Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I love the Across The Universe version, with Eddie Izzard singing, he adds his own flair, and it makes me like that version even more then the original, but it's interesting how they got the lyrics off of a victorian circus poster, but the song is very strange and calliope music has always creeped me out a little, but I still love this song. | |
| Incubus – A Kiss To Send Us Off Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I saw these guys live, and it was amazing There were a few guys fighting at the concert, and Mike Einsieger was like, "hey no fucking fighting at the concert!" And Brandon Boyd said "yeah theres no fighting, tell those guys to fuck off!" and every body called "FUCK OFF!" it was great. It was a shame though, cause we saw them in lake tahoe, where its high altitude, and Brandons voice was having a hard time working out, so he lowered the octave of the high notes on a few songs, but he and the rest of the band were simply amazing, these guys may be the best band existing at the moment, maybe even ever Mike Einsieger is an unbelievable guitarist, Jose pasillas can really kick some ass Chris Killmore is one of the few Djs who actually contributes to the band, and he does an excellent job of it in this case Ben Kenney Soloed at the cconcert and might have blown face in havei not protected it I love these guys, and anyone who can seriously say they have no talent should be sterlized and institutionalized Fuck those people |
|
| Architecture in Helsinki – Heart It Races Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Ive no idea what this means, but its a good song with a catchy tune, and i like pretty much all of the rest of the album, but especially hold music, excellent song | |
| The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – The Impression That I Get Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| nvm scratch that im wrong | |
| The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – The Impression That I Get Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I don't know anyone who doesn't like this song, it's amazing and probably in the top 5 best ska songs ever, and up there on the best songs ever, but I think the theme is that he's someone whose been through hardships and trouble, and to him , something so simple as knocking on wood is something that seems hard and confusing | |
| Incubus – Rogues Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Love this song, had no idea what it's about before checking it out here, and there seems to be alot of clashing ideas, but to tell the truth the lyrics and guitars in this song are so sick, I don't care what it means. I heard, though, that brandon boyd hates being asked what a song means so, if you ever meet him, don't. PS This is the best song on the cd, i think |
|
| Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution – It's A Wonderful Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Also, Just so you guys know, I don't believe Thomas is completely anti-war, because anyone knows that some conflicts can only be solved by war, but he is anti-war-for-the-wrong-reasons, just as I am. | |
| Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution – It's A Wonderful Life Lyrics | 18 years ago |

DAMMIT I CAN"T GET ENOUGH OF THOMAS!!!! I love his music, the new streetlight CD is coming out soon (hopefully) THANK GOD! |
