i can see where the christianity side comes into this song and this is probably what it was meant to be about. although when i hear it it means something totally different to me. im in last week of high school til my GCSE's start and this song really makes me think about school. i dressed differently and didnt act the way the rest did, i just did my own thing, alot of people didnt like me for it, cause they assumed im a "filthy goff" or an "emo" or whatever else it is, people didn't really get to know me, although some of the people who have gotten to know me not caring what the majority of my school though, have said im "lovely" and dont get why those kids hate me so much. As we're all finishing school, and ill see kids i wont have seen in a while by summer (apart from at the leavers ball), the begining of "I just ran into a few someones today Someones that I never really knew And I used to think how I had them all so figured out" when i got alot of grief from kids, (case its stopped abit now but not much) i used to assume people were all the same and thought i knew why they acted the way they did, n got in a few fights with some of the kids. recently ive realised alot of them are actyally alright and get on with them more. "But no, none of it's true cuz I never knew you And now the truth of it is, is I wanna be like you So hello, good friend, I wanna be next to you For my head, for my heart, for it's true" to me, this symbolises how those kids thought about me and the way they stereotyped me, and also how i think abuot them, and how they seem to have been so happy throughout their school life, and i would like to have more memories like those. im not saying ive had no good memories, i just wish id done things a little differently. " And as they as strolled along My heart broke out in song From all the things and the thoughts and assumptions that I had wrong See, now I'll be on my way to make this claim I'll make it famous in every way I'll make it stay when I will save it" this sortof reminds me of the kids who are pretty cool but i used to not really talk to and visa versa, and also reminds me of alot of the people at my school who think i wont make anything of my life becauseim not like them and im not cool. this probably isnt what the song is actually about but this is what it reminds me of... i love it so much, its truly beautiful imo. thats my 2 pence for tday x x x x x |

i think this is about how he realises he was acting blind when he was with her, and realises how she manipulated him "I'd throw my heart into your fire, when I was blind And you knew that I'd come crawling back" as if he was blind from love, as "love is blind etc etc " although he may have tried to leave, he thinks she knew hed come back cause he relies on her cause she has such a hold on him. he knows he must leave now and although it wil hurt him he knows one day he'll be alright and will be able to not depend on ehr, cause he will force himself not to. "And I know someday I'll be ok And I know someday I'll stand again But this won't be the end of me" the chorus seems to be that he is searching for something to take his mind off her so tht he will be alright. maybe he is looking for a new partner. "But I'm sure you're never gonna change 'Cause you've learned this all before And I know that you'll come crawling back But I swear you'll never find me there" she realises shes wrong andhas treated him like shit and says shell change, but he knows she wont cause its who she is, so now she wants him more than she thought she could but he wont have her when she comes "crawling back" and wont be able to find him. when it says"what was i awaiting for..." i think this is like he was with her for years "years went by" but wanted to leave for a while, seemingly waiting for something, but now he doesnt know what. he realises he has wasted part of his life on her due to fear of her controlling him. but she hasnt totally cut him down "cause im still alive" and he just wants to get over her and move on. "you'll break away" i think ths is him telling her she will be okay eventually, but i am not sure he cares that much any more, cause he's alright now. "for now i'm fine." x x x |

i love this song. :) i think its about "scene kids" and posers and that who follow trends to be "cool" then soon as something else comes along they move to that and dont care about their old trend anymore. in the 1st 2 verses he says how he doesnt care how they dress, as its not really important, yet the "hoxton hero" and "indie cindy" do. when it says "With all your white lines, every slut and whore" that reminded me of chavs, as thy have white stripes down their trackies and act like whores (stereotypically, and i know all the chavs here act like that, but this may not be the same everywehr lol before anyone yells at me) when it says " I went to a rave and it got real moody, How can a screwface have a good time? Was he deprived of his mothers boobie? I doubt he's lived a life of grime " i think this is like how people say theyr really hardcore and try and be gangster and that and that this song isnt just about one stereotype of people iots about all of them, saying how everyone tries to be ssomething thy arent, jst to be whats considered cool. the song obviously has something to do with scene kids and that due to the myspace pout bit at the end, as in peopke not realisin how stupid they look trying to fit in or be something they arent. "I stay hard like metal, you could never merk me" this also reminds me of scene kids cause alot think theyr "xcore" etc and try and talk "gangster" because "its scene" :s using chavvy words like murk etc. i think this is like how they think theyr hard and could "batter" you, when really they wouldnt do shit. "dirty like skettle, I kill germs like dettol, get mucky, but I will never settle. " i think this is the most important part of the song cause the kids followin these trends move on to a next trend after a while and another nd another so obviouly arent being their true sellf, so will never actually settle as what they are cause they keep trying to be something they arent. x x x x |

when i saw them last night headlining give it a name in birmingham he said "this is a song about a 6 year old girl who died near my house in a limousine." they are so beautiful they sound so good and are amazing live. (: hope that helps. i think that since the last albumm alot has happened cause theres songs about breakups and that and alot of connotations to jesus/the bible/sins in their lyrics. x x x |
