Haven't used this site in a while. I think the meaning is obvious about the new generation moving forward. The video is about a guy who became a girl. It shows how he used to be, when he underwent surgery, and how she is now, and she does not look back at her old silhouette (You can see her hide the guy pictures off the wall, cuz she doesn't care about the old "her" or "him" rather) Striking parallel to how the generation is becoming more and more open minded and moving "forward' in some kind of direction. |

Wow! I come here so rarely, yet today (a little late) I heard this song and I just cant get it out of my head. I think by far one of the best Rihanna's song. The beat is catchy, but we're used to this in Rihanna's songs, what we are not used to are the wonderful lyrics... I dont like Chris Brown very much but in these lyrics he has been superb Im still listening to the song and I actually think I got the meaning. Its a mix of things... But in general its an addiction from lack of love, whether it is depression, paranoia, panick, drugs,looking to be loved, or a person(ive had the latter one). It can also display the addiction-to-rise-to-fame, people have in hollywood, but I think the general meaning is of an addiction... and how they are so common that any of us try to hide them but yet has em. All my life on my head Don't want to think about it Feels like I'm going insane (Overthinking, takes to addiction, takes to insanity(I know anyone reading this has overthought many times) It's a thief in the night To come and grab you It can creep up inside you And consume you A disease of the mind It can control you I feel like a monster (The chorus is just superb) (Obviously you cant control it, it comes whenever it pleases, and u truly feel bad, like a monster but u cant stop it) Throw on your break lights We're in the city of wonder Ain't gonna play nice (This might suggest about Hollywood) (Anyway I would think it is about the current time, we're in the city of wonder, so many wonderful inventions, people advancing further and further but yet we're missing something... yet ppl arent playing nice, suggesting your alone, even if there are so many wonderful things) Watch out, you might just go under Better think twice Your train of thought will be altered So if you must faulter be wise (Very self-explanatory, she's jst saying "hey u be careful, this is not a game") Your mind is in disturbia It's like the darkness is the light (Again the contrast btw the advancing age(light) and the people becoming colder(darkness)) Disturbia Am I scaring you tonight (Nobody says it out loud, but anyone has Disturbia sometime, so she's scarying everybody with this truth) Your mind is in disturbia Ain't used to what you like (You like fairytales about people living longer, and better, bla bla bla, but the truth is Love(in general) is fading away(Again can refer to Hollywood too, but I think its more general) Disturbia Disturbia Faded pictures on the wall It's like they talkin' to me (Obvious state of mini-insanity, you want something so much that you can lose the difference btw Real and not real) Release me from this curse I'm trying to remain tame But I'm struggling -IF- You can't go, go, go I think I'm going to oh, oh, oh (Actually talking to the Disturbia, the feeling, not a person) - To sum it up, I can refer to this song for a lot of times in my past, even for different things. But besides the meaning I think the message of the song is what we should look for and it is that even with the gr8 inventions, advancing age we're passing and stuff the world is getting colder and colder and people are suffering very much from this in many aspects(drugs, depression, paranoia, a person, being loved) I think all of this are derived by the general lack of love. |

I personally dont like 2Pac's songs. But I think this is one of his best (i think it was produced after his death btw) I mean little thugs, all the rap and hip-hop shit thinking they're at top, they're making lyrics like they can't be touched. But heck the bosses, the ones who rule this world are all over they're not seen they do not appear on top, they're silent...cuz they know... Anyone can be touched. |
