awesome song...i think its about a girl he used to know/date..either way they were very close at one point (probably back when soco would play at punk rock clubs often), and they obviously still think about eachother often. the girl, who is obviously going through some problems, calls up andrew and asks him to write her a song. not just any song, but something that really means something to both of them. the girl is suffering from depression, and has been prescribed pills to help treat it. she doesnt think she needs to keep taking them, but for some reason cant stop because she is addicted and the pills are the only thing that makes her feel good. so andrew writes her a song to help her sleep at night and help her through tough times |

i think the meaning of this song is quite obvious....it's about dating your best friend, falling in love with him/her, and then breaking up and losing the great friendship you had.
this song really hits home for me...i had a great friendship with this girl who i met my freshman year of college. i eventually fell in love with her, and she had fallen for me as well (or so she said)..we started dating and things were so great. i was more happy than i had ever been before..until i found out that she had been playing me and seeing at least one other guy behind my back...i was crushed, and in the end our friendship was ruined.. |
