I'm not even going to go into the meaning of this from Maynard's perspective, but I will say this is my all time favorite song. It got me through a lot in life, and has everything I could ever want in a song. I use to listen to it every night when I would go to bed on repeat because it was my musical therapy. I got a tattoo of the symbol from the video, I never knew exactly what it was besides the obvious trinity. It was just so personal for me, that I had to make it a part of me. I hope to God that doesn't sound weird. haha |

the last parts of the song are lyrically touching. Chris's voice is so soothing, and is absolutely amazing. This song and 'All Night Thing' are my two favorite at this time. |

to myself, aside from the obvious andrew wood actual meaning, i would look at it as a guy who's into a girl but he can go either way cause she's wishy washy like women are. she's a tease, and he's happy whether it's a one night thing or something that lasts longer. But if she wants to let go, then he's cool with that too. Like I said, just being with her is enough. |

oh, and to add, he also says a motivator was when him and Dita split around Christmas. He got really depressed, and felt like some really heartbreaking things had been done to him.
Yeah, it's sad that I go and find that out, Manson is just an awesome and talented person. Very fascinating. |

Actually the Lolita part and the dita parts are correct but there's a little more to it then that, I just found out:
"The song was written because I had been reading the book Lolita and it was very close with Evan Rachel Wood, who’s now my girlfriend, and she came to visit me one day wearing these glasses like Stanley Kubrick in Lolita. And part of it because of her sense of humour and knowing that people would make their comments about our relationship because she’s younger than me. And when I saw her wearing those glasses I had to write a song about it, and that’s the way I wrote most of the record."
