The Doors – L.A. Woman Lyrics 18 years ago
no need to quibble over slightly differing interpretations - make it what you want it. I rather hate it when i have a lovely idea of what something means then someone ruins it by saying it's somwthing competely different.

LA Woman to me, sounds like morisson giving voice to the emotions of women going to LA in search of riches and fame etc, and finds that nothing of this is true, this is elucidated by the two different sides of the city in "city of light...city of night".

what a song, but it was the doors most mainstream album (their manager/producer, i cant remember, walked out coz he was so pissed with the different direction they were taking.)

still - it is epic.

Yeah, the kinks took them to court like - they stole it in a very unabashed, actually very morrison, way. Ray Davies was not happy.

morrison yearning for pure metaphysical escapism inspired from a place of isloation, in a beautiful voice and well weighted tempo - what a song, what an album.

David Bowie – Rebel Rebel Lyrics 18 years ago
RIGHT - This matter of Gayness....David Bowie, was not gay per say, but was in fact "addicted to the orgasm", which meant that he would have sex with anything and everything. This was during his hippy days in the 60s. He 'grew out' out of this, and then became obsessed with androgyny - welcome Ziggy Stardust.

The guitar riff in this song is one of, if not the greatest, guitar riff of all time - Mick Ronson is underrated - doesn't the opening just send shivers down your spine? And critics didn't think this was a good album, the tossers.
