I agree with the whole marriage idea.

But this is what I think each line means

"in my hands tonight is where your fate lies" - She wants to get married, however hes unsure, so hes in control and can say "No" at any time. Therefore he decides her fate and future.

"he's finding it hard to keep his head especially with that girl screaming in his ear" - Shes arguring with him, Girls are always naging guys to get married and put pressure on them. Like in corny films, the girl usally says "lets get married".

"her face drains" - Hes late, doesnt turn up, she soon realises he doesnt want to go through with it.

"No reason to celerbrate" - Weddings are a time of celebration. But why celebrate when this guy is unsure and may regret it.

"gotta ask yourself do they deserve this" - Do the friends and family derserve to get dressed up and ready for a celebration that isnt going to take place.

Enter Shikari – Acid Nation Lyrics 18 years ago
First comment, fucking nice one.
Great song. It has such a beautiful sound, loving the synth.

I think the song is about how messed up the world is, but we must enjoy the good things in to get through life.

For instance, “Huddled in this acid nation with apprehension” – We are here on this earth as a massive group that has so much energy that people just don’t know what to do with themselves, which causes a feeling of dread and anxiety.

People have free will and act the way they want, where we are expected to tolerate peoples behaviour. (Attacked in the street, Crime e.tc.) which we cannot stop. This is portrayed with the words “You are expected to gulp down hindrance”, meaning that others get in they way and obstruct our actions.

However, we live in a nation better than most and have the 5 basic needs, so therefore we must be grateful for what we do have and should celebrate.

The line “This is a celebration of spirit and of mind” could relate to the feeling of love for someone, a form of spiritual enlightenment where you free yourself from the attachment of the world. As when people are in love, they see the world in another light. Its like a natural drug, for instance, the hormone Dopamine is realeased in the brain when people have feelings of love for someone and is responsible for motivation and pleasure in the human body.

“When your bodies resignation is heard you can ignore” – this means that we must accept that the world isn’t going to change, and once we accept this we can move on and ignore those who put us down. Its about finding yourself as a person.

Also the words “This is an assignation”, could be about meeting a lover and the wonderful feelings for them, in an “acid nation” which is dishonest and is full of corruption. Maybe its saying that a connection of being close to someone is an amazing experience, considering that the government and the world is so deceitful.

“We will persevere” – means that the feeling of happiness brought about by such a belief in love will get you through any problem or difficulty.

“FEEL THE RAYS BEAT DOWN” – is about the general pain people cause each other.

“And anyway who cares?
THE SUN IS OUT!” – is saying that we must forget the bad and concentrate on more positive experiences.

“STARE, AT THE, SUN” – Hold your head high, search for the good.

“This is everything I ever wanted.
This feelings all i need.”

-Again finding self and love, making the most of what you have. The great feelings brought about from love.

Anyways, that was my interpretation. What a great song this is =]

I dont know if this will make sense, but anyway.

Its just about us as people wanting to discover more about the world. We know so little and accept what we hear.

We are told that there is "one space, a universe" , but we continue to ask questions why things have to be the way they are, but no one knows the real answer.

From religious beliefs we are just told that god said "let there be life", or the scientific view of the big bang theory. We wonder about our existence and the way things are.

Its like asking where the world itself came from, people have religious and scientific theories about the world which cannot be proven. So therefore the world itself is like a "blind child" which cannot communicate with us to tell us.

You could say the world feels like a "confined habitat" as you wake up in the morning and realise that you are still in the same place on earth, feeling trapped.

So when we die will we find the answers to our questions?
Or will we all just rot in boxes and never know?

However it looks like Rou may have linked this to a relationship with someone.

Sounds like he may have cheated on his girlfriend up until the point he got found out and regretted it.

In the beginning of the song it shows how the world is just a mystery to us all, while referring to the relationship between him and his girlfriend. It’s a mystery to her if she is really being cheated on so she “asks the same questions” to her boyfriend (Rou). But she takes his word for it when he says No, just like the way we accept the religious and scientific theories of the world.

Finally the truth comes out; he breaks up with his girlfriend. And he wants to get back together with her. (“I need you”)

But he is just left there to “collect the tears” and see the damage it has caused (girl upset, crying)

As the lines “I collect the tears, fallen from even the hardest of eyes…” might be saying that even the toughest people feel weak at times. She seemed like a strong person, he didn’t think that her being cheated on would upset her so much.

He just couldn’t see the pain the lies would have caused at the time. Cheating on her felt like it wouldn’t do any harm since she wouldn’t find out. Like, how we may not find the out anything more about this world when we die. (if we do just rot in boxes)

Anyone think different?

Beyond All Reason – love crossed pistols Lyrics 18 years ago
Venno can really sing well. I'll have to see them soon.

Yeah its quite straightforward, Its just about a guy with a broken heart.

The line "you stabbed my heart and cut my love" sounds like she really fucked him over. Probably cheated on him.

"i cant change this,
i just want your last kiss to be from me"

And despite how much she has hurt him he still wants to be with her forever.

Whereas the lines,

"dont ever cut my heart
coz i will slit your love
you cut my heart and you'll see the colour of my blood"

sounds like hes fed up of being treated like shit, and if his girlfriend ever cheats on him again he wont stay with her. He only let her off the first time .

Enter Shikari – Sorry You're Not a Winner Lyrics 18 years ago
nah its obviously about gambling.

People who gamble have "false intentions", in other words they keep loosing their money but come back to "Try again" . Reference to fruit machines "Insert your coin"

Its been explained well by binzyvicious, at the top of the page. (I agree.)

However I DONT think the line "Waist low pleasure" is a reference to the sex he could be having (money spent on hoes).

It probably means he has the choice of spending his money on a scratch card OR, a go on the fruit machine. As when you win on the fruit macines the money falls into the tray at your waist. meaning that youve won so you feel a positive sensation.

I DISAGREE with the whole mad on drugs thing, where the guy rapes the girl in the end.

("His eyes are locked on her")
Its about a guy with poor social skills. He sees a girl he likes, but all he does his stare at her.

("He’s confident, but he's not aware, She doesn't care".)
He is naive and doesnt realise that shes not interested in him.

("Everything seems to intimidate him,")
The guy is acting awkwardly. He is not comfortable with himself.

Ive seen shy guys on a night out where they act all awkard around women. Yet they have confidence in believing that the girl is in love with them.

("her body's jolting,")
He keeps touching the girl's arm in a friendly way, but shes uncomfortable with this. So she backs away. However, he doesnt see any harm in this.

("But its all right, it's all good,")
He doesnt mean to hurt the girl. All he wants is to be liked. Hes just misunderstood.

(“We’ve had this date from the beginning…”)
They both went out that night not expecting this to happen. They both booked tickets to the gig, so this date was planned.

(“The curtain goes down on him again…”)
Shes had enough, she says something rude or leaves. Finally it clicks. The guy suddenly realises that he has failed once again to get the girl. He feels like a failure.

(“Who remains when the curtain goes down?”)
The curtain goes down at the end of theatre performances. Its like if it’s a show. Are people watching this happening inside the club/concert.

I witnessed this at an actual Enter Shikari concert before.

Its just about a social reject that wants to be liked. People think the guy is dangerous like you have all described as him being a “stalker”, when he is actually just harmless.
