Daryl is a genius. If you were to look at all his lyrics including from Glass Jaw, you'll find so many hidden meanings, and more often than not his songs are not saying what you think they are. He's also always quoting people, for example, "let me devalue what's inside you" is supposedly what jack the ripper used to say to his victims. You see, isnt he cool? And dont be offended guys, Head songs are ment to be fun and happy, if you want to be offended, listen to Glass Jaw. There, you'll hear some pretty mean and angry songs, especially to women and God. But I still love him and I'm a girl and I'm religious. Oh, and I agree with ddbullet. I think Daryl is just talking about the stupid things people do in order to live a sort of glamorous life. Hence, "hollywood at night hanging around if this a must, then dying is a must right now" I take it he doesnt like that way people just give in to a certain image, they lose they're own identity and just become, well gross. |

And who would even dare to put them up without checking if they are the real lyrics? Almost all of Imogen's lyrics posted are wrong. It drives me crazy. | |

Its annoying the way is seems no one bothered to write out the lyrics from the album booklet itself. You all seemed to just guess! I'd type up the real lyrics myself right now if only I wasnt too lazy to find the cd in my room. But yeah, I think you all pretty much got the meaning of the song. |

You say too late to start, got your heart in a headlock I take this is her quoting something being said to her. Listening to the song, I sensed an argument going on. She, herself, wants to start anew, but people are holding her back because they dont want her to get hurt again. Like an over protective parent. The singer wants to get out and meet new people, do new things, but she's being held back by this person saying its too late to start. I also saw it as a person arguing with themself. You know? When you just break up with someone, you know you have to go out there and atart again, but a part of you is still hung up on your ex. So there is no point in looking for someone new because your heart still belongs to someone. I think I rambled. Oh well, thats just how I always understood the song to be. |
