| The Strokes – I'll Try Anything Once Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This is really old comment, but you're wrong. The original Such Great Heights was by The Postal Service, and then Iron & Wine covered it. | |
| The Mountain Goats – Going to Maine Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Sounds like a pair of adulterers fantasizing about running away from their respective marriages. Very happy tune though. "You and me are in a lot of trouble And somebody's gonna burst our bubble" They have something good that is unsustainable and will get them in trouble. "Your husband My wife My marriage Your life" Their respective marriages. If they are caught, the girl will lose her husband and her life, probably implying that her husband is abusive. The guy will lose his wife and his marriage, which is self-explanatory. Chorus: Runaway fantasy. "Someone knows what's going on Someone knows, and someone's gonna tell Someone's gonna wrap us up in styrofoam and paper And mail us flat-rate right down to Hell" Someone knows their secret, and if their secret gets out, they're royally screwed. And adultery is a sin. |

| Titus Andronicus – Upon Viewing Oregon's Landscape with the Flood of Detritus Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Freaking great song. "And upon the pavement, for each and every particle of glass There are a thousand dreams never to come to pass Because dreams can't be, nor people, indeed, built to last I've adored every inch of this country through the same dirty windshield Peeking through blotches of the blood of bugs towards the Elysian Fields Behold my brother's beautiful babies! It's obvious to see The world's been making plans to go on without me" |

| Titus Andronicus – In a Small Body Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| The first half of this song rules. | |
| The Mountain Goats – Heretic Pride Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
A beautiful quote from Albert Camus's The Stranger which basically contains the same message/sentiment as Heretic Pride: "As if that blind rage had washed me clean, rid me of hope; for the first time, in that night alive with signs and stars, I opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world. Finding it so much like myself–so like a brother, really–I felt that I had been happy and that I was happy again. For everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they greet me with cries of hate." Love this song. |

| Blackalicious – Alphabet Aerobics Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I'm actually not much of a fan of this song, although I'm a fan of Blackalicious. A to G sounds a lot better, even this is more clever and interesting. | |

| Ludo – Save Our City Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song really grew on me. The only song from Broken Bride I liked at first was Broken Bride, but now I love most of the album, and especially this song. princessKATIE, it's about like some guy who builds a time machine to save his wife who died some time earlier, but he goes too far back in time, to prehistoric times. He makes a break for the time machine and I think he goes too far into the future, and this is the situation. Zombies or whatever are like taking over. |

The piano and parts of the guitar remind me of Final Fantasy, wondering if anyone else thought this. I love this song. |
