Anyone think this song could be about how we live our lives like automatons? We can clean up the enviroment... most of us dont and infact make it worse. We could restructure our politics in USA but we dont, we let it perform as poorly as it does. We could stop everything that makes our world bad, but most of us dont. That is what drones is about. The faceless queen isnt evil corporations or individual politicians, it isnt even the literbug it is ALL of us. The song is about living a waking life and all of the sudden saying why was I doing this? Then stopping. Could you imagine a world where we all just stopped what we were doing all at once and then made fixing, healing, regrowing everything one of our priorities? This song is about the eniviroment. There is a duality here. It is also about a woman. Mother Nature. The song is about how we in our ignorance destroy something so beautiful instance. He in the song relizes that he is killing the flower and puts it back in the earth so it can grow. This isnt a "hippy" thing. Infact many enviromentalists are activist punks, so I would watch out who you go calling hippy, longjohnsilver. Why do so many people have a hard time with Rise Against songs being about saving the planet? With hope in our hearts, bricks in our hands, we sing for change. - Rise Against. |
