Portugal. The Man – Lay Me Back Down Lyrics 17 years ago
I think that chorus is a little off... I'll correct everything when I get the liner notes.

I pretty much love this freaking song.

Portugal. The Man – It's Complicated Being A Wizard Lyrics 17 years ago
Love this song/EP. I love how so many of these songs ended up becoming parts of songs on Waiter: "You Vultures!" Like How the Leopard Got Its Spots and Tommy. Great stuff. If someone writes the biography of this band they should call it "Wizards and Waiters." :P

Portugal. The Man – 1989 Lyrics 17 years ago
Probably my favorite song on Censored Colors, at least so far. I was born in 1988, but man does this song speak to my whole generation. I love it.

Yes – Siberian Khatru Lyrics 18 years ago
I think Beach Bum would be right to some degree. I mean, every song is up to interpretation, so no one is wrong. That said, allusions to the bible and the story told in it are found EVERYWHERE. So even if they didn't necessarily penetrate the lyrics of this song, they may very well have penetrated what INFLUENCED it.

That said, I think this song is just about finding your way in the world. "Even Siberia goes through the motions." Surviving, but doing your own thing. I think the Khatru was a name for a fake animal invented by Jon. On top of that a species of damselfly was recently named the Siberian Khatru. Good stuff.

All things aside from that I LOVE THIS SONG.

The Microphones – I Want Wind To Blow Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, this song just resembles total idyll, in a negative sense, like a complete loss of motivation. His want for wind to blow is his want for a purpose I suppose. Something to move him along, or someone. I love this song a lot.

Faith No More – The Cowboy Song Lyrics 18 years ago
I can definitely agree with this song being about suicide. "You take the elevator to the top" implies that he's sort of seen it all and then "just close your eyes and take the final step" is like getting off on the roof and jumping. It makes perfect sense. And I just want to say this is one of Faith No More's best songs. Ever.

Mr. Bungle – The Air-Conditioned Nightmare Lyrics 18 years ago
This could also be an allusion to the Henry Miller novel of the same name...
