| Death Cab for Cutie – Your Bruise Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"it's a backwards attraction to your forward eyes but you're so far-sighted that you can't place trust in what or who you recognize" he's saying that their attraction to one another is wrong, and that this girl shouldn't be trusting the guy she is with. "Chitter-chatter, all these secrets started giving me the shivers" I LOVE THAT LINE. |

| i think it's about visiting and ex that he still has feelings for, meeting/seeing her new lover, and realizing that the new guy is better for her than he was. he's talking about how she's changed ("you seem so out of context..") | |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Transatlanticism Lyrics | 18 years ago |

at first i thought ben gibbard had been influenced by the idea of transcendentalist literature (emerson, thoreau, etc). the name pretty much says it... transcendentalism was an optimistic movement, with a strong appreciation for NATURE (know nature = know thyself)...so what i'm getting from this song is not completely clear, because then he goes on about being sad that his lover is so far away...? i don't know - but i am in love with this song. |

| Amy Winehouse – Back To Black Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
i think this song is basically about a man's love for cocaine ('her') and her love for heroin ('black', as in black tar). "And I tread a troubled track, my arms are stacked I go back to black" i'm not sure what to make of this, but i think it's significant. her arms stacked...does this mean shooting up? stacked with tattoos to cover her track marks...? (has anyone noticed that when miss winehouse looked more healthy & voluptuous she had very few tattoos, and now that she looks so unhealthy and skinny she almost has full sleeves?) "you go back to her and i go back to black" her = cocaine, as already described so...not sure if this means the two drugs drove them apart, if his drug use brought her to her own demise with heroin, or what just my thoughts. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Scientist Studies Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i felt like this song was about a new experience of some kind, living alone, college, etc. in response to TehTomato about the whole "our bodies will dissolve the chemicals in due time"...i don't think it was about suicide or whatever, it definately sounded more like drugs/alcohol. | |
