actually the chorus has nothing to do with Anything in Bedlam In Goliath "All of this time, bedsore containment. Where am I now that the music has faded?" was written in Deloused Era.. which is probably why it sounds a little Delousey. It was originally an improv line Cedric would recite from time to time during Eriatarka during the late 03-early 04 era. you can hear it on some bootlegs. its retained the same melody too. |

actually, the song Mars Volta covered is Time To Roll Another One... which is pretty much the original version of Candy And A Current Bun... record label forced Syd to rewite the lines talking about marijuana... and Rename it to "Candy And A Currant Bun" I like, to see you run Like that...... Oooh, don't talk to me Please just fuck with me Was Originally Im High dont try to spoil my fun Don't Cry, we'll roll another one oh dont touch me child please you know you drive me wild not a big deal but Ice cream, taste good in the afternoon Ice cream, taste good if you eat it soon was Ice cream, taste good if you eat it right Ice cream, taste good if you treat it right. |

Hmmm Interesting theories about darkside, I dont really have an idea of what the concept is, other than the obvious from what we hear from the songs. WYWH has that little four note riff dubbed "Syd's Theme" that is on EVERY track of WYWH. And The Wall.... Well Fuck Roger Waters.. hes a great writer and musician, And i would see him perform solo nowadays but personality wise from the accounts from David Nick and Rick.. Fuck Him, Billy Corgan reminds me of a sort of Modern day Roger Waters, i mean the same thing happened with the Pumpkins. IE Creative differences and ousting the member who was using cocaine... I find it Offensive to say that I think "every album" is about Syd, seeing as i guess Darkside WYWH and The Wall are every album. I happen to favor Piper, Meddle, and Animals anyway. Anyway, Im not here to argue with you. I was just posting my OPINION as i emphasized earlier in my first post. And clearing things I only had FACTS for, Like the Album cover etc etc not just things that were different from what i thought. I like your theory about Darkside of the moon tho. It fits with the whole "everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon " |

its also widely known DSOTM, WYWH, and The wall, are largely Syd inlfuenced if not completey (yes i know The Wall was half biographical for Rogers upbringing) I said, INFLUENCED not biographical, and its a CLEAR refrence to Syd on Darkside as someone else posted, clear reference to Syd Barrett ("and if the band you're in starts playing different tunes/I'll see you on the dark side of the moon," - this is a clear reference to Syd Barrett, at the height of his troubles, would simply play one note during Pink Floyd concerts, or, even worse, simply detune his guitar) Ill give you that WYWH was 60-70% about Syd while the other 2 songs were about the record industry. And the wall...That was again 60 % Syd.. all that was about Roger was his Childhood, Even the Movie shows, The Child Pink was basically Just Roger and When he Grew it was more Syd. there many mnay and some Obvious refrences, The Cigrette burned all the way donw, up to the shaving off of all his hair, Just to name two. |

Very Interesting theories... Actually the meaning for the cover came from the mood of SOME of the songs, Money was one of them., The pyramid, Not necesarilly a prism as many others and I had thought before, but a Pyramid, and the rainbow simply symbolizes their light show. And before skeptics who cannot listen to others opinions bite my head off, i go tthis from an Interview with Storm Thorgerson (Cover Artist) that is on Vh1's Classic Albums for DSOTM, He says "The Pyramid"was drawn because he gets the theme of Greed and Ambition from some of the songs. Which a Pyramid is a sybol for. And then he took this along with 3 or 4 other ideas for th cover and everyone Immediatly just liked the current one. and i THINK (only my opinion) It's somewhat relating to drug use, but only because Roger Waters has stated Syd was the inlfuence for some of these tracks (its also widely known DSOTM, WYWH, and The wall, are largely Syd inlfuenced if not completey (yes i know The Wall was half biographical for Rogers upbringing) But lines like (If the band youre playing In starts playing different tunes) point to syd. |

at the Oct 3rd 2006 show Jim Said "That song originally was written for my great-grandmother that past away while i was on tour, and we changed it now to be about all the kids were losing overseas to a bullshit war" I checked the bootleg to make sure...:) |
