I think he is talking about schools depriving you of an opinion or an option.
He has lost faith in God, but in doing so he has learned to disagree;stand on his own two feet and become independent.
There's a possibility that "I gave up and then I gave in" means he gave up on God and then returned.
I think the second paragraph is about people pounding you with Christianity, yet we say nothing and question nothing.
Could mean a lot of things. |

I have a feeling that Tomas shares a similar feeling with Kurt Cobain. A feeling of resentment toward people that call themselves fans yet completely miss the band's message.

Every last one of Tomas' songs has this effect. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's finding something in his writing. This a beautiful thing that we've found. I have a feeling he will continue to write. Considering his thoughts on J.D. Salinger's single book. |
