It's amazing what erik can do with a few simple chords and a basic melody. Some of his songs seem almost too incredible to be real when you hear them. I've heard he can really get an audience tapping their toes and clapping along to his music, and I can honestly picture that when I listen to this jaw-drapping song. This is one of my favorite songs to play on the guitar. It's truly inspiring. |

| Crass – System Lyrics

The first time I heard this song I was almost rolling around the floor wailing out in tears over how terribly hilarious this song sounded to me. I had never heard music so terible and I wondered how it could pass as music. Now it's one of my favorite songs by CRASS. We're stuck in the system, many of us bound by ignorance, thinking we are where we need to be, that the ones in power, the ones "on the roof" are right. This song also calls people out on their romance, basically labelling it as bullshit, that we are staged up and set out like toy figures to fall in love and have "cheap romance." People become completely content with having found love that they become so filled up with that satisfaction that they do nothing else with their lives. The system is like the rungs on a ladder. It also says at the end that the popular music of nowadays (technically those days thirtys years ago but it still applies today) could have been called nah nah nah nah nah and people would still lsiten and buy it. Like most of CRASS's work, very sloppy yet equally profound. |

This is possibly my favorite song on Stations. The general overall message to this song is that people need to stop talking about that which they don't know the real truth behind. Also, there are more important things that should be discussed in society, like what makes the world the way it is. You are controlled, confined to live a specific way of life and by a specific lifestyle. You're stuck in a spcific class, you must work for the social elite with a standard 9 to 4 job, because that's the way it is. You have no choice. |

| Leftover Crack – One Dead Cop Lyrics
|
Right. Cops aren't the only idiots. Just the biggest. This song isn't directed toward every individual cop in America, but toward the police force in general in our communities. They have too much freedom and liberty to do as they please and many take advantage of that in one form or another, some more drastically and outrageously than others. We need some sort of police force in every community, or some sort of crime-fighting force to turn to in instances of robbery, rape, murder, etc. upon etc. But that police force is not the kidn that we see in the good ol' country of the US of A.
Also, people don't just rob because our "system", by which I think you mean our society, is fucked. A major reason why robbery is so big in our country at least is because of inflated drug prices, which would be reduced if drugs were legalized, but anyway that's an entire other issue, but one that does relate to cops because they throw people away to rot their lives in prison. Cops themselves also have their own clenches within the roots of the drug chain. I know that's just sooooooooo hard to believe, but believe me, it is. |

This song is pretty easy to understand. Life is pointless. There, that's it. Granted, I love the imagery and detail LoC uses to show this. It basically is saying that there is no initial meaning to life, and that this existence that we all lead is sad and painful, but true in that we should accept it as nothing more than that. How this song correlates to the title is that people who think that there is a god who will save you after you die are incompetent and ignorant and should accept that once you die you rot in the ground. Life is as simple as that. No god, no meaning , nor purpose, so make your own meaning and purpose. I think the last line, which does cause some confusion, is saying that there is no afterlife in which you have to remain in existence after living a painful life, and that there is no afterlife. Very truthful song. |

| Leftover Crack – Life Is Pain Lyrics

The guy giving that "anti-abortion" argument......was kind of joking. It's kind of obvious with the repetition of the phrasse "man" at the end of two statements and the "......." It's called sarcasm. It's called a joke. EVen if it wasn't funny, learn to recognize one. Jebus.....
If any of you haven't read adrianInvalid's above statement, then read it, and if you have, then read it again, because it hits the sopng dead on. Life itself is painful, and when we have these irresponsible fools fucking like rabbits and birthing more and more people into this planet, overpopulation makes like quality dwindle, and cruelly place more people into this painful existence. This song isn't just directed to those who fuck for the hell of it, but even toward happily married couples who want to further better their bonds of love with a child of their own. Think it over, you're free to do what you want but with so many people being born into this planet we face threats of overpopulation. |

You people are idiots! How do you not like this song? It chills my fucking spine every time I listen to it, but not because of stza's lovely vocals, but because of what he's saying and how it correlates with the actually instances of MOVE and the police encounters they had. The lyrics themselves are so intense, and the insanely brutal music just floods so much more emotion into song. Frankly, this song is beautiful! I cannot think of a better way they could have finished such an incredible album. The way they open up to it, when stza first screams, the piano at the end even is fascinatingly fantastic.
What this song is about is the nine MOVE members who were imprisoned for shooting a local police officer. Thing is, by the angle from which he was shot, reasons indicate that he was shot by a fellow police officer, but the members of MOVE were blamed instead, but not just the one who supposedly killed the cop, but all nine for committing one crime. They'll be released nest year in 2008 after having been imprisoned for 30 years. The other instance described in this song is when the members were bombed with C4 and then fired at when they tried to escape from the fire. Some members were seriously effected with long-term illnesses or diseases due to the bombing. Anyways, both of these are some of the best examples of police brutally and even government corruption that I have ever looked into. Anyone who's interested in further detail of what actually happened then check out fantompowa.net because they have some very detailed information on the issue. |

| Against Me! – Slurring the Rhythms Lyrics

The camera not brought for pictures are the specific memories that don't need to keep being looked back to. Instead, keep looking forward, and don't look over your shoudler to the past. Things keep changing and are not ocnfined or limitted ("we arrive to leave again"). Keep going with a destination, a purpose to live, because that is enough. Change can happen at anytiem or any place, but you cannot let it get in your way and make you falter from your path. Teh repetition of "we escape" seems to idnicate gertting out of a pothole in the road, so to sspeak, or a confinign palce that doesn't let you move on. "Trailing taillights" indicates moving forward, naturally, following something, most likely their path or set course, leaving past those places they were at before (to escape those past en route to arrival). "We're never going home"--pretty self-explanitory. Lovely song, the best to get someone into the style of this album. |

Powerful, heartwarming, solemnly soothing, breathtakingly beautiful song! I really like what they're saying about their own company taking them to the greatest lengths, farther than the president, which is a pointless position, father than the radio that plays the same songs by the same artists who play the same worthless meaningless noise that continues to be repetetively played, and that staying in "the middle of America" is like killing themselves, wasting their lives, talking "a bullet in the head." Who wouldn't want to be in the position that AM! describes here? This song almsot makes me jealous. I want that feeling. |

| Against Me! – Rice and Bread Lyrics

This song describes what a music scene should be, with bands singing their hearts out about something that means a lot to them, getting everything they are thinking out into lyrics, out into a song, and this is survival for them, like rice and bread, the basics need for survival, what the breath in, how they live. Towards the end of the song where it says "you can make an industry selling people the things they want to hear" hits at the music scene today. The only reason why certain records are put on the shelves is because that's what people want to buy. Quality doesn't mean anything anymore, except in the undergroudn music scene where quality in lyrics and a good message to music is what makes music good. I adore the last line "it will take us farther than the posture you're fronting." |

| Against Me! – I Still Love You Julie (Hanging on for a Scam) Lyrics

I agree with KeasbyKnights (great name by the way). I think it's written form the standpoint of someone who notices that the punk scene has become to focused on the "scene" image, and how all these people who claim to be "punk" are basically full of shit, and have NO idea what punk means and what it stands for. Then he meets someone who seems like she might have some sense about what punk is, but then turns out to be like all the other dronies making a scam out of punk. These people try to be truthful about punk, and take it as far as they can go, until everything they stand for falls apart and they become exactly what they hate, what punk stands against. AM!'s best song, if a little difficult to interpret, but once you do(even if some have there own different interpretations)---WOW! |

This song is pure garbage, and probably the worst piece of shit AM! has ever released. I seriosuly have trouble listening to this song, despite the fact that they are probably my favorite band. There is so much more that can be said about the outrages of war being advertised to young people, how they go into the army without anywhere else to turn, about how war ruins young people's lives. No, but what does the lyrics say? They complain about how Yahoo won't let the boy's FAMILY access his email account? Who gives a shit? I can't tell who this song is directed to? Is it directed to the two-faced media who fakes caring about the dead soldier, is it directedto war itself, to the outrages of war, to tell people not to join the army? What is this song saying? I think it's specifically against the media, but it says so much more about the war that it clouds and almost doesn't even indicate the meaning to this worthless song. |

| Against Me! – White People for Peace Lyrics

This song is saying to me that each side to a war, to conflict or aggression, has its own justification, and to each side of the war there will be the media or a rock band, a "voice of the people" to publicize the outrages of war, for their own sake of getting fans and loyal listeners. White People for Peace, white people telling us why the war is wrong who really don't give any reason to what they say. Their words, their protests are pointless, and it doesn't change the fact that the battle rages on. When our own soldiers are telling us that this war is without reason, the only people who pretend to do anything about it are well-off white people and bureacrats who don't do a fucking thing to change the situation. The battle goes on and on and on, but when will it finally stop, when will someone finally end it? |

| Leftover Crack – Clear Channel (Fuck Off!) Lyrics

Okay, um, why this song is such a great opener to an anticapitalistic album, it's bashing on one of the biggest corporations in America: CLEAR CHANNEL. Sure, perhaps the message is a little broader in that Clear Channel represents all of the censorship in America. In addition, they play the same songs over and over again on their radio stations, creating the monotony mentioned in this song. It confines music as an art form for one, and limits people from exploring different musical genres and different music period. It's worded perfectly in the spoken word lines at the end.
"They figured out a long time ago
that it's much easier to control people
when we're all watching the same TV shows,
listening to the same radio stations,
going to the same movies,
looking at the same billboards,
eating the same food,
and speaking the same language." |

| Leftover Crack – Feed The Children (Books Of Lies) Lyrics

Dammit! Someone already mentioned the references of Brave New World and 1984! Argh...If anyone has not read either of these books, I would highly recommend it.
In any case, I love this song. I mean, I really adore this song. It brings up how religion (more so toward Christianity) is justified in bloody violent wars, crusades, virtually. Not literally, but preachers rape our children's minds, and basically a big chuck of our populace. We're victimized and made ignorant and our mind's are abused.
"I'm told I've made the wrong mistake,
But what am I supposed to take?"
Certainly not religious pompus bullshit. |

World War 4!
What the fuck happened to Leftover Crack? Didn't they used to be good? I recall them realising a masterpiece of an album about three years ago, and now they're recording music that resembles a fucking Blink 182 song. If you disagree, then please, listen to the chorus, and disagree with me again.

This song is so beautiful it chills my spine. What it's saying is that if you live a good life, if you make in your years, then you can die in peace. And I don't think it's necesarily justifying getting high and drinking unitl you can't feel feelings anymore, but it's saying that we know that it's our lives to live, so if we want to do that then no one should stop you. Your life is in your hands. You know you're fucking your life up. Who is anyone to stop you? |

| Bad Religion – 1000 More Fools Lyrics

This song is not restricted to any specific setting or area, but to all Christians everywhere who have forgotten (or never knew) how to use their minds, or think for themselves and come up with their own reasons for why they believe in God. Rather, they use Christianity as a crutch and leave their mind crippled, trapped inside a box, until they grow up and get married and have children and pass their beliefs and mindlessness onto them, giving birth to more and more and more brainwashed fools to pervert the minds of more and more people without knowing WHY. Of course, they do not need justification of argument, because they have the ultimate reason for why their God is real: the Bible says so, and that in itself is enough for them. Think beyond this, and then you're doubting your religion and going to go to Hell. Kudos to whoever used the term "vicious cycle." |

| Bad Religion – Only Entertainment Lyrics

This song deserves more praise. Easily the best on the album, an excellent closer, and easily one of their premium songs.
BR has a way of expressing people's desires for useless knowledge that the media continually feeds to them through this screen that catches our vision, keeping our gaze tied to the its vibrant glow. They keep showing the public what they want to see, which is somehting that will entertain them. Society doesn't care about politics, world issues, or anything outside their own pathetic wastes of life. And the media knows this, which is why it can keep getting away with sports stories, celebrity info, right wing, left wing nonsense, natural disasters that apparently affect everyone (or at least that's what they'd lead you to believe). The media is only entertainment. Genius, just genius! In any case, one of BR's best songs, easily, beyond the shadow of a doubt |
