I can definitely relate to the meaning behind the title of the song. My sister was in a car accident and I went to visit her at the hospital. I walked outside to take a phone call and I saw two men in hospital gowns, connected to their IV's/Monitor. The two of them were smoking... I couldn't believe it! It really was a sad thing to see. It is hard to describe the way I felt. They looked so desperate but unwilling or unable to change. There wasn't much hope in their eyes... The title is meaningful whether literal or not. There are so many people that are desperate for love, beauty, acceptance, etc... Some people are desperate for things such as clean water and shelter. Sometimes there are external forces that get in the way such as governments, society, and other people's expectations etc. Sometimes it's an internal force... Either way this song captures what it is like to long for something no matter what it is and the struggle to achieve it. |

To clarify: The line is actually "Tiny heroes FALL in big battles" My friend wrote the song for Virgos Merlot... Tiny heroes does not refer to white blood cells, cancer or AIDS. He says, "It means kind of along the lines of God doesn't give us more than what we can handle, BUT not everyone's shoulders are able to bare the weight." The song symbolizes "just how painful and mentally draining life can be when you're battling your own 'personal demons'." |
