Mos tof the song seems to be about the abuse of our planet/global warming. "I'll laugh until my head comes off I'll swallow until I burst Until I burst Until I" We rarely live life in moderation. We want everything coinveinient and fast, no matter what the cost is to the environment. "I have seen too much" The singer has seen enough of this abuse. "I haven't seen enough" The arguement to the previous line. The denial of global warming. "Here I'm allowed Everything all of the time" Abuse of our resources "Ice age coming Ice age coming" Global warming causing the next ice age. "Let me hear both sides Let me hear both sides Let me hear both" Let the deniers be open to the fact. "Throw it on the fire Throw it on the fire Throw it on the" I'm not quite sure about this. Maybe the GW deniers thinking the idea should be thrown into the fire. I don't really know. "We're not scaremongering This is really happening Happening" This isn't a conpiracy, GW is really happening. "Mobiles skwrking Mobiles chirping" I think this is a reference to capitalism. Capitalist countries are usually wealthy, but they they tend to abuse they're resourses. "Take the money and run Take the money and run Take the money" I think this is saying to cut our losses and start going more green. We've probably permanently damaged our environment, let's save what we have left. "The first of the children" After we screw up this earth, we'll need another place to go. Well that's what I got from it. Oh, and the title idioteque, I think it might be a play on words on the word idiotic. |

This song could also be about plastic surgery in our society. The rubber man being the plastic surgeon. "He used to do surgery for girls in the eighties but GRAVITY" What he used to do surgery on much older women but is now doing breast jobs on twenty-year-olds. "She Looks like the real thing. She tastes like the real thing, my fake plastic love." The singer talking about his girlfriend dealing with her insecurities using plastic surgery. "If i could be who you wanted all the time.." The feeling of always trying to impress, and never being good enough that, orthe blow up doll interpretation could also be right. |
