I thought 'first six are for you, seventh is for me' refered to the seven men of the Black Hand to assasinate Franz Ferdinand. Gavrilo Princip was actually the seventh in line. What I heard was that the first one threw a granate into the car and the driver threw it away into a following car. I remember one was feeling sick, one backed out and other things happened which miraculously saved him. The "first six" didn't succeed and were therefore for the Black Hand, meaning that it was a loss for the Black Hand. But "the seventh" did succeed to assasinate them and Franz Ferdinand died. This means that it was a loss for Franz Ferdinand ("for me") |

well i guess its about this guy saw this ruby person, and becomes totally obsessed by her (verse 1) and the second verse: nothing else matters and he wants to know who she is (finding our what youre called, and repeating your name) and she doesnt notice him at all (chorus) but im not sure what the 3rd verse is though |

it's my favourite on a certain trigger too, but I like the second album better. This song is awesome, though. One of my favourites. yeah, Kunst is the dutch word for art, but i guess its german, cos its with a capital thingy (and a noun) + they sing a lot in german (auf asche, end of darts of pleasure, tell her tonight in german) and its definatly prophets of tesco's, cos thats what they show in the video clip. its written down. prophets is kinda biblical too, eh? |

i think the song is just about how pointless life is.. That is the end of that and fergi, kaiser chiefs formed in 97, and were called Parva back then. Ive got Parva's cd (called "22")too, and parva is really different from kaiser chiefs. time honoured tradition is not a parva song. |

what Boss 2 K said ('Franz Ferdinand' are named after the guy who was shot, a minor incident in Eastern Europe that lead to the outbreak of World War 1. Ferdinand and his wife were shot at the same time; the song talks about the moment between his wife being shot and him dying- he feels he might as well be dead, "Come on, take me out!", his wife's murders have left him 'broken, shattered I lie') kinda makes sense. I never saw it that way, but if you look at lines like "I'm just a shot then we can die" it is kinda obvious... and "I'm just a shot away from you"... one of them is dead by then.. and the "i know i wont be leaving here, with you", i always thought of it in a way that "i" was leaving, but the "you" wasnt, but maybe its that they both wouldnt leave.. anyway.. just guessing... |
